1968 Ford Mustang

Beautiful 1968 Ford Mustang Custom Coupe. This car was custom built as a fun cruiser to drive and show off. Mildly built fuel injected 5.0 with AOD automatic transmission. 4 wheel power disc brakes. A/C and power steering. Lots of custom touches through out. Fantastic looking two tone paint.
The build started out with a rust free body and was completely stripped. A Heidts Double A arm front end with sway bar and a Heidts 4 link with pan hard bar for the back were installed as was Heidts sub frame connectors to tie it all together. The complete under side of the car was sprayed with Raptor Liner tinted blue. The body work consisted of removing the drip rails, filling the key cylinder holes, filling the rear reflector holes, filling the antenna hole, molding in the Shelby style fiberglass side scoops and rear quarter extensions. An original GT/CS fiberglass deck lid was located and used. Shelby style LED sequential tail lights were added. A rear GT lower valance and Ford racing front valance were added. To top off the aggressive look a replica GT 500 KR fiberglass hood was used. Also the shock towers were cut out and fill panels added. The custom paint job is a two tone using Ford GT Midnight Blue Metallic and Tungsten Grey Metallic. It has new bumpers and a custom made billet grill insert with driving lights. Headlights are LED. To finish it off I installed Ring Bros billet exterior door handles and Shelby style outside mirrors.
The engine was out of a 1991 Mustang GT and was rebuilt with a mild cam, new pistons, aluminum heads, BBK intake, throttle body, MAF sensor and cold air intake. JBA ceramic coated headers and MagnaFlow mufflers with an x-pipe handle the exhaust. Ford performance injectors were used. It runs with a Ron Francis engine wire harness and Ford ECM with a Tweecer programmer. The serpentine belt drive system came out of a 5.0 Explorer and has been power coated for a very clean looking system. New P/S pump and A/C compressor were used and the alternator was rebuilt. An aluminum 4 core radiator with twin electric fans keeps the engine running cool.
The transmission came out of the same car and was rebuilt using a AO Dominator kit. It has kevlar bands and a hardened steel input shaft. A new 2500 stall torque convertor was installed and a deep aluminum pan was also used for extra cooling. A Lokar shifter handles the action.
The rear diff is the original 8" rebuilt with new bearings, 3:25 ring and pinion and a traction lock center section. Rear disc brake system was added with stainless steel lines.
The interior is very cool with a one piece TMI UniSuede headliner and sun visors. TMI Sport R seat covers and foam over the original seats with blue stitching. Matching full console with cup holders and touchscreen Pioneer bluetooth stereo. New dash pad and carpet. Full Classic Instruments Velocity brushed aluminum gauge kit with matching brushed aluminum dash pieces. New 3 point front seat belts were added. Custom made door panels finish off the appearance. The front door glass was changed over to a new one piece design that removes the vent window and gives the car a modern look. They are also power. The new Vintage A/C-Heater system system works great and the controls have been moved to the old radio location. So much easier to use. Power door locks also have been added with a remote key fob. The trunk is simply done with a custom made sub box, Optima battery with custom made mount and a false floor to cover the new Tanks Inc. fuel tank and lines. There are gas struts that work the deck lid.
During assemble a new American Auto Wire harness was installed. New fuel lines were ran. The interior was sprayed with Raptor liner then covered with sound deadener. 4 wheel disc brakes were added with cross drilled rotors and a new power booster and master cylinder. New brakes lines were ran. A new Ididit steering column with tilt was added along with a Grant wood steering wheel. Most of the wiring I ran inside the inner fenders for a clean appearance under the hood.
I'm sure that there are other little things that I'm forgetting but over all this is a great car. It was a blast to design and build. Even funner to drive. There are two items of concern. First is I never had E-brake cables made. The pull handle inside is installed and the cables on the rear calipers are there. Just need the cable to connect the two. Also the front windows could use some finer adjusting. I'm the builder, owner and seller of this car so if you have any questions, please email me.
