1968 Ford Mustang ShelbyGT Convertible Clone

!968 Mustang custom roadster, made to look like a convertible that has the top down, with a boot cover. Has a snap-on top if you need it and a custom high-end alarm system. This '68 was a coupe, in great shape that was converted and customized to look like a convertible. It is very hard to tell that it isn't, unless you look very well, and know what you are looking at. This car was professionally customized and done right. The custom build was done in 2005, in Texas, and I purchased it from a Mustang broker (Tom Covert) in Lake Wales, Fl, in 2007, pretty much as you see it now. He bought several Mustangs in Texas and brought them back. All were nice .I originally wanted a 1968 Shelby GT500 K.R. convertible clone he had that was very sweet, but it was too much $. This one really got my attention as a show/driver that was downright cool and FUN. The time has come to let it go, for several reasons: moving to a different state, daughter needs a car soon don't drive it enough. I have taken very good care of this beauty and have had to do very little to it, but I did add a few upgrades that I thought it needed over time to improve drivability or performance. The frame, body, chassis and metal interior door are all original. Aftermarket chrome bumpers. Everything else is restored, new or custom (either in 2005 or since). The SPECS are as follows: 302(347) Ford Motorsport Stroker crate eng. (430 H.P., 400Lbs foot torque),10:1 compression (runs non-ethanol gas), 6,800 Redline. Forged internals(11K+) Very racy and fast revving, but mild and streetable when cruising. Flaming River Rack&Pinion Race steering. Tremec TKO 5-Speed Trans., Original ford 8" rear-end completely rebulit with all race-duty parts(Moser axle & forged gears;4.73:1 ratio, posi-trac). Custom Dash and gauges (metal part of dash is original). Custom 3-stage paint, with graphics painted and clear-coated(About an $8K paint job, then). Restored interior pieces with a super clear and loud sound-system integrated in. Real roll-bar(frame bolt). Sub-frame connectors(bolted/welded). Chrome TractionBars.High-quality chrome wheels, touring tires, Grab-a-Trac/ Stage 5/ road-race suspension(leaf- springs, shocks, braces) SSBC front brake kit w/slotted rotors, standard drum-rear. Billet Race steering column, leather performance steering wheel, custom shifter/plate.This car has developed a few blemishes in the paint that I don't like, but is still in very nice condition. Motor runs supreme and this car drives down the road like butter. Has been to Daytona Beach quite a few times, which involves Hwy. 27 & I-4, in Central Fl.(both dangerous roads) A little bumpy because of the stiff suspension and shifting is a bit notchy(especially fourth gear, if you speed shift). The wheels and tires are wide all-around, so turning this car in tight spaces when you aren't moving is fairly difficult with no power-assist steering.I am used to it, because I like old cars and jeeps, but this is not a wimpy person's car, in general. The booster brakes are very good and this thing rides down highways and roads like a dream. Pretty good on gas when in 5th gear. The clutch and pressure-plate are race-duty, but not too heavy. It has been a fun car, with the looks, sound, racy engine and the sound-system! This Mustang is not for everyone for sure, and is not your Grandfather's Mustang. I am an 80's dude,so I have always loved it. A man's car to be sure, with some FLASH. by the way, I run Amsoil Race Oil(full syn). There is a similar car on eBay that is not near as good as this one, in many respects and the price is 45K. My name is Ben and my # is 863-289-0737, if you have any questions.
