Description:

1968 Ford Mustang

No reserve price.1968 Ford Mustang with a 302 and Ford-o-matic 3-speed automatic transmission. I have the framed Marti report (shown in pictures) that shows this car has the original specs. Per the Marti report, this car is a 1 of 1 for 1968. It was the only 1968 Mustang to come from the factory with a black vinyl roof.It was also 1 of only 2 1968 Mustangs to come with a Tu-Tone hood from the factory. It was special ordered with a Full-Width Seat with Armrest; also very rare. That means it looks like two buckets, but the armrest folds up to become a fifth seat.
This car has the original special ordered factory A/C that works (R-12 Freon), factory power disc brakes (pretty rare), factory power steering, 302 original motor (as far as I can tell), and special orderedelectric clock in the dash. This car has so many special-order features, it wouldn't have been much cheaper than a Shelby at an invoice of $4,006.19 in 1968 (per Marti report).
The car has been driver grade repainted sometime in the last 10 years and still has the original Meadowlark Yellow color. Still shines up great. Built in San Jose and was a Texas car only a few years ago per the window registration sticker (pictured). It has very little ware underneath and looks to have theoriginal39k miles. As you can see from the pictures, the under body only has a little surface rust. I have kept this car in my garage with a dehumidifier running.
It has a newly rebuilt transmission (June of 2018), new plugs, new plug wires, new distributor, new carpet, and new tires. I have over a thousand dollars in tuning the calibrator and fixing vacuum leaks so that the engine starts and runs great.
Known things that will need work:The passenger side, rear window is off its track. The differential is making a little barring noise, meaning the differential will need some work in the future. The heater core is leaking a little anti-freeze. There is a dent in the grill area (seen in pictures). The factory AM radio does not exist.
Buyer will either pick-up locally or have the car shipped at the buyers cost. A quick search shows that shipping a car starts around $300-500 dollars and depends on how far. I am located in Mount Zion, Illinois.
Once the auction has ended, the buyer will place a down payment of $500 via paypal no later than 24 hours after. The remaining balance should be paid via a bank cashier's check, personal check, or cash. The car cannot be picked up or shipped until the check clears my credit union account. I have a lean on the car through AGCU (agcu.org). Once the check has cleared my account and it is paid off, I will mail the title to you or you can pick it up locally.
More pictures available upon request. This is a fantastic car and drives great!Includes 2 sets of keys, framed Marti Report, and owners manual.
