1983.5 VW Vanagon Westfalia Arizona Rust Free
This car was previously owned by James and Judith, hich are previous customers of ours, or approximately 25 years. James passed away recently and the vehicle sat in their garage for a few years. Judith approached us and asked if we would be interested in the vehicle. We jumped on it so we could get another VW back up and running and roaming the streets. Below you will see some great pictures of this Arizona Rust Free 1983.5 VW Vanagon Westfalia. An itemized list of what we have done to get this baby back up and on the road is as follows: Coolant flush and refill, uilt a new water coolant purge valve as they were no longeravailable due to a one year only item. We built it out of brass so it will never wear out. We adjusted the valves, hanged the oil, epaired an exhaust leak. As far as the engine goes, hat sums it up. The engine runs flawlessly. While up on the rack, e adjusted the rear brakes, mergency brakes and inspected the entire brake system and everything is in tip top shape. There is plenty of life left in the brakes. We replaced all four tires as the ones that were on the vehicle were worn due to the weather. As far as the exterior goes, e just buffed and cleaned. The pictures will show howimmaculatethis Westfalia really is. For the interior, t was extremely nice. The carpet was covered by mats from day one, nd the seats were completely covered by mats. We removed those and had theupholsteryprofessionally cleaned to show howpristineit is.

This picture shows the straight body of the bus. It has very few paint flaws. We have the new tires on the bus. The canvas is in great condition. The material on the canvas is soft, nd pliable, owever it did have a small tear that was repaired by the previous owner, n the back right corner. The front zipper part on the canvas works fine and the netting is in perfect condition however there are a few holes in that canvas area.
The lower plastic grille has a little boo boo. James was pulling into his garage and hit his work bench and broke the plastic grille and damaged the body just a smidge by both lights. He made the repairs himself, nd it is apparent he was not a paint and body man. Any professional shop could repair this for very little cost.
This photo shows a closer look as James' not so handy work. Again, o big deal, t is an easy fix. As far as the bumper goes, here are a few small dents.
This photo shows the upper plastic grille in near perfect condition. There are a couple of little chips and scratches below the windshield which you can see in the photo. Windshield is in perfect condition along with the windshield rubber; it is nice and soft. New windshield wiper blades have been installed.
This is another shot of Poor James' handy work. Again, t is an easy fix but we want to show this in detail so there's no concerns.
Glass is in great condition. As you can see on the bottom left hand corner by the glass, here is a small chip missing. Looks like possibly a bee bee gun got the bus at one time.
Now that's a nice rear end if I've ever seen one. The paint is nice. The bumper has a few small dings. Interior drapes show some fading, owever it is not horrible. They have been cleaned. The tail lights are in great working condition as you can see from the picture.
This photo shows the inner panel had rubbed on the paint. We adjusted the hinge so the door works properly. We also had a full set of keys made so there are only two keys that open all the locks and an ignition key.
This photo shows the drivers quarter panel. It is very straight and it has very few flaws in the paint. We installed a new water fill door, ose and water pump for the sink. The shore power works perfectly.
This shows a good view of the fiberglass top, hich is in near perfect condition. It only has some standard fading. We also installed a new pop top seal as well as new luggage compartment seals.
As you can see by this photo, he interior is damn near perfect. Seats had covers on them for the last 25 years, s well as the carpet. When we purchased the vehicle, e removed all of the aftermarket seat covers as well as carpet covers, evealing the beautiful factory original upholstery and carpeting. As for the appliances, he propane as been filled and tested. The stove works perfectly, ink and water works great as we replaced the water hoses and water pump, he refrigerator works only when plugged in. It only works on shore power. It will not light on gas and is well above my expertise, nd I did not dig any further into it.
The cabinets are in great shape. The wrinkles on the top cabinet is just the sticky paper that protects the cabinets.
As previously noted, he refrigerator works great when plugged in. However does not work on gas.
This is another great picture to show the vast amount of storage that is in this bus. Very clean, nd is ready to go out camping.
This is a great photo that shows the pull out bed. The bed is in pristine condition. It has been professionally cleaned and is ready for your sleepy little head to take a rest on.
This is a nice shot of the factory upholstery. The dash is in great condition, s is the steering wheel and seats. This does have a cassette that plays amazing Jimmy Buffet songs.
Factory door panels are in great condition. The outer door seals are soft and pliable.
This is a photo of how clean the bus is at the engine compartment lid. It is in very good condition. The seal is perfect.
This is the completely factory original engine. It purrs like a kitten. There is no smoke, o noise, as plenty of power. Please watch the video below.
