1984 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Westfalia Camper

If you are looking for a Westy which is mechanically reliable, restored inside and out, has remained in a dry environment its entire life, and that is "turn-key" ready-to-go...this is it! This will sell quickly. If you want one that's "completely finished", I'd encourage you to not let this one slip away.
~~This is a long description (with youtube videos) but hopefully, it will answer most of your questions. I'm always happy to talk on the phone if you'd rather call > (8o5) 7-two-9-56.O6
This is a fully restored 1984 water-cooled with BRAND NEW 2.1 liter (with 600 miles!!) It is a California, rust-free Vanagon Westfalia Wolfsburg edition FULL WESTFALIA CAMPER!! It was first sold at a dealership in San Diego. That owner had it for over 25 years, he sold it to my friend in Palm Springs area in the desert. It has rarely ever seen inclement weather. This van looks better in person than it does in pics. Brand new, custom paint and the seats have been reupholstered. A new tent as well. Full camper interior with stove, frig, sink, etc. This is a rare find, it would be difficult to find another like this. And it's a totally rust free California Wolfsburg Westfalia. Link to videos below.....
----- AESTHETICALLY -----
It's been restored both inside and outside. There are two VIDEO LINKS at bottom of page
~~The paint is a high-quality, 2-stage, and 2-tone paint job. There is beautiful "sparkle" "color-shift" "pearlescence"...meaning that when the light hits it you can see a ghost color of gold underneath. If you know what I am talking about, then you know how cool this can look. If you don't know what I'm talking about, trust me, it looks awesome. The beige color really has a nice rich look.
~~On the inside, the seats were reupholstered a couple of years ago. They now have a much more durable fabric and it compliments the van colors nicely. If you aren't well-familiar with these vans, you'd think it was stock.
~~There is an EXTRA set of seats that goes with the van. They are just "set" in the Westy right now and can be "mounted" properly if you want to be able to carry 7 people.
~~On the exterior, all of the trim, grills, door handles, mirrors, etc have been painted black. This is not some "rattle-can" paint. This is all proper paint that won't be chipping off.
~~All the rubber looks great.
~~This has the complete camping setup with "two" tables. Many have only one.
~~Both bumpers are stock and it sure is rare to find them in this condition. They are beautiful.
~~There is an auxiliary "comfort" fan mounted behind the driver. Very nice addition.
~~Additionally, the dealership added an auxiliary A/C ventilation vents in the front cockpit. This blower operates separately from the other fans
~~There is a DVD player mounted behind the driver so those in the back can watch movies while the van is in motion.
~~Just to be clear, this is a FULL camper with sink, stove, frig, and water tank. The refrigerator and stove both work and are nice and clean as you can see in the picture.
----- MECHANICALLY -----
~~I have paperwork/receipts to prove that this literally does have a NEW 2.1 liter engine...That cost well over $5000. It had zero miles on it when it was installed. It now has ~600. It literally is THAT new.
~~ Newer transmission with brand NEW clutch
~~ There are "two" NEW batteries
~~ New starter, shock absorbers
~~The thermostat, and any questionable hoses. (yes, it's water cooled)
~~600 miles ago it had a major tune up...at least that's the most recent receipt that I can find. But that said, it runs so smoothly that I have to believe that this was done again recently.
~~It runs perfectly. I wouldn't hesitate taking it to Anchorage, Guadalajara, or Patagonia
~~ HID (High Intesity Discharge) headlights. This make a HUGE difference!! Like HUGE!!
~~The tires are brand new and ride is very smooth. The wheels (rims) on there now have been completely refurbished and look factory new.
~~The frame, body, and undercarriage are all completely rust free. (see pics)
~~The brakes are fine and they were renewed about 40,000 miles ago.
~~The lights all work, the windows do their thing, the wing windows don't whistle, the seats are comfortable, it has a front and rear heater, the windshield wipers work as expected.
~~The propane tank has been refurbished, so that's good
~~This van is equiped with A/C but it needs repair (most likely a recharge)
----- What does it need? -----
~~What would I do to it? I'd fix the stock cruise control that was installed at the factory..I think it was standard on the Wolfsburg edition. It worked until the engine was replaced. I'm guessing it wasn't connected. I'm a huge cruise-control fan. But if most of your driving is in town, it might not be of importance to you. Cruise control was a very rare feature. I had one that had it and I thought it was awesome. If you overfill the gas tank, will...overflow. This is a common problem. The solution is $89.95 from GoWesty for their kit... or just don't overfill it :-)
----- LOCATION -----
~~The van is located in beautiful SANTA BARBARA, CALIFORNIA, which is a great place for a few days to tool around in your new Westy!! Also, I'd be happy to completely arrange (or help arrange) shipping. You can very easily fly into Santa Barbara and we would be happy to pick you up. Or you could fly into LAX (Los Angeles International Airport) and take the shuttle bus to SB where we can pick you up. Or rent a car one-way and drive the camper wherever the wind chooses to take you. Or whatever makes sense to you. I would "possibly" deliver it to you as long as it's paid in full first. I like driving and it would be a fun "farewell" trip. Obviously, we would need to talk about all that but, it is a possibility.
-----PAYMENT and TRADES------
This Westy is under market value and I know it. That said, please don't bother with ridiculous offers. We all know what these are worth and this one is worth every penny and more. Truly, you can keep this van for a couple of years and when you want to sell, you'll MAKE money on it for sure.
I would consider a partial trade with cash being paid to me as well. I'm not interested in muscle cars but I do like many vintage vehicles. Feel free to try.
