Description:

1969 Chevrolet Camaro

Reluctantly selling my beautiful 1969 Camaro survivor which has an extremely rare 6-cyl engine and 3-spd manual trans (I only know of one other '69 Camaro so-equipped). The car has 46k original miles and is in amazing condition (it ALWAYS attracts lots of attention and appreciation when it is driven or taken to shows...people walk right past the restored '69 Z28s and SSs to see this car and ignore the rest). Its factory options are the X11 Style Trim Group (coded on the body trim tag...see photo), tinted glass on all windows (unfaded and perfect), 250 cubic-inch 6-cylinder engine, AM radio, Whitewall tires, Magnesium wheel covers, and Floor Mats. It was sold new to Charlotte Jo Overgaard (my nephew's mother-in-law...I am the 2nd owner...she sold it due to health issues) on Sept 19,1969 at Misle Chevrolet in Lincoln, NE. She drove the car until 1982 when she went to H&H Chevrolet in Omaha to order a new Camaro (the dealer offered her $750 for her '69...she decided to keep it). The car was stored in a machine shed at her brother Bob's farm near Milford, NE for the next 38 years. It sat under a leaky skylight for most of that time which ruined the paint on the roof (as well as causing the only rust on the car which is at the back of the right door opening...see photos for roof damage and rust...there is no other rust on the car). Charlotte got into an accident at an intersection in 1975 and the left quarter panel and lower right quarter panel were replaced and the car was painted by H&H Chev). The grill was replaced after a tractor was backed into the orig grill (note that it is black and not silver). Bob and his sons came up with the not-so-great idea of pulling the car behind a tractor and dumping the clutch after the car had been inoperative for 38 years and bent one rod (I had a perfectly running 230 six from a 1970 Nova with 40k orig miles and threw it in to get the car back on the road...it runs so well that I never reinstalled the original 250). The car is absolutely loaded with originality including the "PTB" markings on both sides of the firewall ("PTB" stands for Paint, Body, and Trim and the marks were applied when the car's final inspection occurred at the Norwood Chevrolet plant on the north side of Cinci...there are a couple of photos of the marks,,,they are hard to see, but they're there). The original BF Goodrich Silvertown F78-14 whitewall spare tire is in the trunk along with the factory jack and jacking instructions sticker. The clutch, pressure-plate and throw-out bearing are new, as are the tires (Uniroyal Tiger Paw radials), new shocks, new battery and fuel pump (orig pump is in a box in the trunk), new muffler, brakes, and new plug wires, plugs, cap, rotor, and points (the car starts immediately and drives beautifully). The interior is absolutely gorgeous...seats, door panels, headliner, carpet, weather stripping and floor mats are all like new (the original floor mats were covered with green auto store mats which saved the originals). The dash pad has separated from the dash in a couple of areas, but can be glued back in place and will look almost new when that is done (no cracks in the dash pad and the color is still beautiful Medium Green). All of the windows roll easily up and down, and everything in the interior works except the radio. Charlotte's boyfriend Lyle replaced the car's original column-shifter with a floor shifter and steering column from a '69 Nova (it looks factory and shifts perfectly). The original column shifter steering column and shift rods are included with the car in case the new owner wants to restore that rare feature. Extensive documentation comes with the car: the Protect-o-plate, the warranty info pamphlet, the clear plastic documents pouch, several receipts for oil changes and repairs (the car's last documented oil change prior to storage was in 1982 when the car had 43k miles...the oil change cost less than $7...see photo), original chrome dealer trunk emblem, Misle Chevrolet dealership key fobs (2 were in the glovebox when I got it), a Nebraska AAA sticker on the rear bumper from 1981, a Nebraska Cornhuskers National Champion Football sticker in the glovebox from 1970, the dealer inspection form from June 1969 (it took the dealer over 3 months to sell this car), several auto registrations from the '70s and '80s, a 1982 Nebraska automobile inspection decal in the windshield (the last year the car was driven before its 38 year slumber), a 1981 Omaha City resident sticker in the passenger side of the windshield (not shown in photos) and the original 1969 Nebraska license plates. There are also four photos of the car that were taken in the mid '70s and in 1982 when Charlotte's new Camaro replaced her '69 (see photo). I expect a $500 deposit thru Ebay within 48 hours of the completion of the auction along with a phone call from the buyer (I can be reached at six 14 seven and 69 five 86 plus eight...I think you can figure it out). Final payment in full can be made with a bank transfer (your banker talks to mine and the funds are in my account before you receive the clear Ohio title). Payment is to be made and the car picked up within 14 days of the completion of the auction. I prefer for the buyer to come to the Columbus, OH metro area to pick the car up at my storage facility, but I will work with your auto shipper if necessary (shipping costs and arrangements to be made by the buyer).
