Description:

1965 Pontiac GTO

Here is a Great Project car that runs well, moves and stops, but has been off the road for about 20 years in clean dry storage.Originally a 326, 2bbl LeMans with Factory A/C, bucket seat, console, Power Steering and Power Brakes that was Maroon with black power top and interior. This car was cloned as GTO back in the 90'sCar is out of Florida and has a clear Florida title. It does not have the typical rust and scale on the underside from road salt. It does have rust from the salt in the air. Most notable places are rear body panel, LH Door, around windshield channel and A pillar. This is a factory A/C car and appears to have the majority of the A/C parts included. However the compressor is just sitting on on the engine for photos. Convertible top does up and down with a switch, but is a little slow. Top frame is nice and clean. There is a push button starter switch wired in to start the car (I have not investigated why, but it does work and you can turn the car off with the key). Windshield is cracked and just sitting int he car for photos. Some of the trim such as the pinchweld is just sitting in place.Engine: 1965 389 YS (GTO coded) block with 6x heads and AFB carb. The engine looks rebuilt. I have have the valve covers off and the heads are nice and clean inside. The exterior of the block shows no signs of grease build up. However I have no documentation for anything that was done to the engine. Engine doesn't smoke or make funny noise. Idles smooth, but could use to be tuned up and fresh fuel. Frame on the car is very solid and clean. Frame is not all scaly and pitted like many of these cars, especially those cars that have been in the midwest for any period of time. Rear end has a Positraction tag on it and both wheels spins in the same direction when jacked up and rotated.Body does not appear to have ever been wrecked or repaired. However there is rust for the salt in the air. Floor pans look good, trunk pan was replaced with the 7pc kit. There is rust in the windshield lower corners and A pillar areas. Car will need a rear tail panel. Quarter panels are repairable, but do have rust. LH door is junk. Hood in a new repro. Fenders have some rust. Pass door looks pretty solid. AC (17 1/2 deep) Radiator support is very nice and has a Harrison 4 corer Radiator in it.I am a GTO parts seller and can provide the buyer any desired new restoration parts at my Wholesale cost. This will save you 20%-30% compared to your favorite retailer. I will assist in loading the car on your trailer or a transporter. Can deliver within Ohio and possibly surrounding states at $2.25 per mile. I highly encourage you to ask questions, have a phone call with me or come look at the car in person BEFORE you buy it. I want to make sure that you, the buyer know and understand what this car is and more importantly that you are happy with it as it is. Although it is a project car, it is a great start with a lot of potential and not a ton of money, especially when people want 7-10k for rotted cars that need frames and don't run!
