Description:

1966 Chevrolet Chevelle

This iconic machine needs a full restoration. The interior in the car is good condition, bucket seats and rear seats are solid and look to have been redone with aftermarket black “Pleather”at some point in its life, you can use like they are for a driver, just need cleaning up. All glass is there, doors close nice. Has small chip in windshield, but comes with a second replacement. Cowl and windshield frame look excellent, one small spot on the panel below the windshield.if I grab the windshield pillar, it’s Rock Solid and does not flex at all, and that’s a usual weak spot. Dash is clean, don’t see any rust behind it, all gauges are present. All convertible arm rests and panels are present and in good shape, but still could use cleaning up. Convertible top frame is excellent and is a manual top with all straight and correct handles, and framing. Looks like the quarters were replaced at one point, trunk lid is not good (fixable, and available new). Trunk floor is already cut out, supports seem solid. Full floor needs replacing, one inner rocker needs patching (comes with inner rocker and other pieces). Front fenders and doors are repairable,(all available new, and I would replace them with new or good used). front wheel wells in good shape. Frame seems solid, I’m sure does need some repairs and needs to be sand blasted and painted, coated with surface rust. I just had my knee replaced and then fell and tore my quads, so I can’t take intricate pictures or climb under. But your welcome to come inspect it yourself. And honestly I wanted to make this Chevelle a keeper, but between my knees, restoration cost’s and not being able to work, I am forced to sell the projects I had. I heard the motor run when I first bought it, ran good, lumpy cam, headers, cherry bomb exhaust,m/t valve covers, Edelbrock high rise intake, Holley carb, Hei ignition, good radiator, previous owner put a new clutch, all the Z bar stuff is new in the trunk from Chevelle catalog, and are GM restoration parts. I do have the driveshaft. A few hours work, and you could have a running, driving car, while you restore it. Car will run and drive with a couple days work, brakes are new in the trunk. Overall, it’s a pretty complete car, missing bumpers (all bumper brackets are present), with good bones, but needs a complete restoration. Motor was started a few months ago (runs good), is a 4 speed, hurst shifter, previous owner put a new clutch (z bar pieces are all new in the trunk). Exhaust is headers with new cherry bombs and turn downs. (Sounded awesome). Wheels are Corvette rally wheels 15x8 with tires that hold air, but are not road worthy. You could do a Road kill garage car, make all necessary things solid, and rip around town with primer spots and huge back tires with the top down ! LS swap?? Big block SS clone? 6 speed? Seriously, I’m out of work, I had a knee replacement, and fell on ice, tearing my quads. I have zero income, and am willing to talk about an immediate cash sale, if you’re serious and realistic. Bid to win, I’m sure this car will do well, being a 66 4 speed Chevelle convertible. ! Call me with questions or serious OFFERS. Everyone who buys my cars, is happy with my detailed description of the car. I do my best to make everything as clear as I can, but buyers need to be realistic when buying a 60 year old vehicle, especially a project car. This is a great father son or daughter project, that mostly complete, and it’s a Chevelle drop top. Very cool…. These cars finished nicely, are 60-80k on Mecum auction.Chris 732-801-3468. I’m happy to answer whatever questions you may have.Obviously is Sold as is, true miles unknown, title says 120k
Comes with additional windshield, boxes of extra parts, all trim is there, top is manual, goes up and down nice.
