300TD Wagon

Highly sought after 1983 Mercedes-Benz W123 300TD Estate Wagon. Mercedes’ very robust 3.0 liter OHC 5-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine paired with an automatic transmission. Exceptionally rare Ascoit grey exterior over blueMB-Tex interior.

Original equipment includes: 4-speed automatic transmission, power steering, cruise control, central locking system, climate control, electric windows, fully independent suspension, power assisted four wheel disc brakes, light alloyBundtwheels, Becker radio, automatic antenna with selective height adjustment, 2-speed windshield wipers with 5-second interval mist control, electrically heated rear window with windshield wiper and washer, fully adjustable front bucket seats, front center folding arm rest, folding rear seat divided 2/3L – 1/3R, electrically operated right outside mirror, halogen head lamps, halogen fog lamps, tachometer, luggage rack with chrome roof rails.Additional options include a sliding sun roof and the rare and desirable third-row rear-facing bench seat option fitted with aftermarket lap belts.

This wagon starts with the turn of the key and the ultra-reliable 3.0L inline 5 cylinder turbodiesel engine sounds very healthy with minimal blow-by. The transmission shifts well through all of the gears. The suspension and steering both feel solid. This wagon has recently received a fresh oil and filter change and new primary and secondary fuel filters. All four brake calipers, pads, and sensors were just replaced and the brake system was completely flushed, but there still appears to be a bit of air in the system.

The inside is clean and smoke-free. The front electric windows work correctly, but the rears will require new switches/motors. The vacuum operated door locks function correctly. The climate control works, but the buttons are somewhat finicky and the a/c could benefit from servicing to blow cold. The radio was replaced at some point and is not currently connected. All of the gauges within the instrument cluster are reading correctly with the exception of the tachometer, which will likely need a new sending unit.

This wagon is very desirable and has been remarkably well preserved. The stunning factory Ascoit grey paint was recently refreshed and shines beautifully together with the chrome accents. The body is clean and straight with no significant rust or corrosion, including the underside. There are couple of spots on the windshield that were impacted by stones from the road. This 300TD comes complete with four keys for the door locks and ignition and original factory Mercedes-Benz manuals and pamphlets that were included when new, as well as partial service records. Overall, this is an iconic Mercedes W123 wagon finished in a rare and unique color combination that is an absolute blast-from-the-past!
