Here up for bids is this nice looking Saab wagon. A Portland car from new, the car was sold to an enthusiast in San Diego in 2010 and I recently had the opportunity to bring it back to its hometown. This wagon has benefited from some nice upgrades over the years, including a rear shock conversion, electric cooling fan, Weber 3236 carb, Dragen hood vents, electronic ignition, and reworked heads to handle unleaded fuel. It has recently been serviced by a Saab vintage specialist and is ready for the road.

The car has had one repaint in its original color of MellanblÄ. The paint was done to driver quality standards, it's very presentable but not quite show quality. The car is extremely solid, I have not seen any rust issues on the car and the underside looks solid as well.

Good panel fit throughout. The bumpers have never been rechromed, they show some hazing but are straight and solid, hanging in there after 46 years.

Lights and lenses are all in good condition.

The factory roof rack adds a nice visual flair to the car and is a valuable accessory.

All of the glass is original to the car, including the windshield.

Tires are Firestones from Coker in the correct size of 165-15, all 4 have 90% tread.

The front seats have been recovered, otherwise the interior is all original.

All gauges are functional and show good readings. The clock works but runs a little fast. Heater, plenums and fan all work as intended, as well as the radio. Lights, signals and horn work, there are no electrical gremlins to chase down here.

Well preserved back seat area and seating for 7 (!) when the 3 seat is utilized.

Headliner is original and has a few small flaws. Floors show some surface scale but no holes. Undercarriage photos are shown further below.

This Saab starts easily and runs very well. The 1.7L V4 runs strong and smooth, it powers this wagon down the road with a nice balanced feeling. Shifting is precise and easily engaged, the car runs cool and brakes well. An alignment was recently completed, the car tracks straight and true, just a nice driving little wagon.

Upgrades include a Weber 3236 carburetor, Pertronix electronic ignition, reworked heads to handle unleaded fuel, and a thermostatically activated cooling fan. Receipts for this work as well as an original owners manual are included.

Clean and original undercarriage with no rust and no issues, just a nice little Saab that's ready for Swedish style motoring.
