One really had to be on the top rung of the social ladder to even own one of these! This is a truly forties icon classic, inished in a deep rich black paint job shows extremely well with only minor imperfections visible upon close inspection. Both the front and rear bumpers fit nicely and compliment the body. The vehicle’s electrical convertible top is a beautiful contrasting Tan “Stayfast” layered waterproof material. Paint and body shows extremely well with no visible evidence of repair or damage that we could find.

Grille and dash appointments present the car as a 1946-47 rather than a 1942 model. This 1 of 136 Lincoln Continental Cabriolets built in 1942 features a (1949-1951) 337 cu in. 152 hp Flathead V8 (rebuilt by the New Mexico owner of 43 years) adapted to the original overdrive transmission! The car has been delicately driven weekly in a dry southwestern climate, nd has always been garaged. The car has a metric odometer since it resided in Mexico City for many years and used by the Chief of Police. The car was imported back to the United States in the 1960’s where ownership resulted in good stewardship and enjoyment by Classic Car owners in Albuquerque and Santa Fe, ew Mexico. The car is currently driven about 400 kilometers a year. Included are the list of repairs and modifications, estoration material, arts catalogs and photographs, ervice bulletins, pecial Anniversary books and Authenticity manual. “Lincoln Continental Owners Club” articles and magazines, opies of the original owners manual and even some spare parts! The Lincoln Motor Company (also known simply as Lincoln) is a division of the Ford Motor Company that sells luxury vehicles under the Lincoln brand. Lincoln Continentals from 1939 to 1941 shared largely the same body design with each other; based on the Lincoln Zephyr, he Continental received few updates from year to year.

For the 1942 model year, ll Lincoln models were given squared-up fenders, nd a revised grille. The result was a boxier, omewhat heavier look in keeping with then-current design trends, ut perhaps less graceful in retrospect. 1942 production was shortened, ollowing the entry of the United States into World War II; which led to the suspension of production of automobiles for civilian use. The 1939–1948 Continental is recognized as a “Full Classic” by the Classic Car Club of America, ne of the last-built cars to be so recognized. As of 2015, he 1948 Lincoln Continental and 1948 Lincoln are the last cars produced and sold by a major U.S. automaker with a V12 engine

These Lincolns are becoming increasingly hard to find in such solid well kept condition. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!! Be sure to check out our 1948 Lincoln Continentals!

Current mileage on the odometer shows 69,988 kilometers, t is sold as is and is mileage exempt. The car is being sold on a clean & clear title.
