1939 Lincoln Zephyr Ford 3 Window Coupe RARE Survivor

I just pulled this old 1939 Lincoln V12 three window coupe out of a barn in Northern California after decades of storage. This is the true definition of rare barn find all #s matching motor, trans, and Columbia rear end. This car has been in storage for decades! It is a true survivor! I purchased this beautiful rare Lincoln Zephyr from the widow of a prominent Doctor who passed away roughly 20 years ago. The Doctor always kept the car in their dry barn. The son of the doctor always maintained the old Lincoln with fresh gas and trips around the farm after his dad's passing. He also kept the car up on blocks to keep the suspension in tiptop shape when not driving the old girl.
The doctor collected a complete extra Lincoln Zephyr V12 motor as photographed with many new parts like a complete re-ground balanced crank, new cam, new solid lifters in the box, new valves in box, carburetor, distributor, fuel pump, all new gaskets, mint original cast iron heads, aluminum intake, chrome exhaust manifolds, starter, generator, and oil pan with most parts new and in boxes. All purchased decades ago. A beautiful Lincoln1939 block with all originalpistons and connecting rods shown on my floor.Complete new motorgasket kit and much more. Very rare to find a V12 motor this complete and in excellent original condition. His intention was to have all these parts as back up if he ever needed them.
The doctor purchased this old Lincoln from the second owner, Edward Towe who was from Sacramento California in September 1997. Please google this owner, Edward Towe who died March 13, 2012. He owned more than 300 Ford and Lincoln's and kept them in his museum until his passing. They were all sold in 1997 and at that time was the largest Ford Lincoln collection ever sold in the US with over 300 cars in his collection. I have much documentation on this car, the owners history and early photos after being sold to the doctor right out of the estate of Edward Towe museum. Once again google the second owner Edward Towe from Sacramento California 2012 obituary for additional details. He was an incredible investor.
This car runs and drives incredible. I just installed all new complete brakes, master cylinder, four wheel cylinders, rubber lines, and shoe's, complete. It alsohas new dual exhaust, rebuilt Columbia rear end, two brand new 6 volt battery's, all brand new wires, distributor and NOS 1939 Lincoln carburetor, fuel pump, and spark plugs. I also just put new oil filter with 6 quarts of fresh correct oil, changed all transmission fluid, rear end and optional Columbia rear end fluids. This old girl runs and drives like a new Lincoln! If you look close you will also see wind wings that were added in the 40s over 60 years ago. It also has dual trumpet optional horns. I will guarantee the most knowledgeable Lincoln 1930's Zephyr expert that this survivor has one of the finest rust free bodies you couldever find. The floors, trunk, rockers and fenders are the finest rust free you will ever find. They still have most of the 1939 Lincoln factory under coating as seen in the under carriage photos along with the 1939 paint fobs underneath..
From what I'm told there are only an estimated 22 original 1939 uncut Lincoln three window coupes known anywhere. Some were restored from rust cars and shine like new today with every thing restored. A small number of others are beautiful restored cars from nice rust freeoriginals. And others known are very rare unmolested unrestoredlow mileage beautiful survivors. This is truly a RARE unmolested time capsule survivor and a needle in the haystack to find anywhere in this condition after 79 years of existence. Please look at the photos of the car coming out of the barn covered with barn dirt and dust and driven up on the old car trailer this past April 2018. When I got the car home I waxed it and polished the chrome and vacuumed the interior and cleaned the dirty glass. It really came back to life and looks amazing in real life.
Please note this car is a survivor and has great aged patina. The paint still shines with no dents in the body any ware. The inside of the fenders are very hard to photo but I can assure any collector that you could never find a more beautiful rust free, dent free set of all four original fenders any where. The 79 year old fender skirts look like new on the inside again spotless rust free. There is dry cracking in the paint with some chips and minor scrapes again with no denting, however the paint still looks great with decades aged patina and just the way most collectors want to see it in a survivor class. The bumpers and the front grill have some pitting, however they still shine and have never been touched or replated in over 79 years. This is a car you must come view and drive at my home, The condition will blow you away. The most sought after year of all the Lincoln Zephyr 3 window coupes is the 1939 model and the most sought after. Too much to list!!! This is a once-in-a-lifetime find on one of the most collectible early Lincolns ever made. Please call before bidding. Too much to list.
Also note I have the original glass 96H-13060 1939 Lincoln headlight lenses and original 1939 bezels seen on the front seat in photos. At one time the second owner installed 1940 Ford seal beam headlights and bezels for better night driving. This was a common practice in the 1940s and 50s. These are just bolt on items and easy to replace back to original 1939 and what's rare is I have the original 1939 bezels and glass lens to go back to original if the new owner would like to go in that direction. I like the look as found and find it a classic automotive old schoolupdate. He also put on front directionals behind the grill for California safety inspection and these also are bolt on items that still work. Please come for a nice test drive. All inspections are welcome.
I am thinning out the herd and really donthave a lot of time to enjoy them as I get older with five grandchildren. I know I have most likely missed some info and you are welcome to call 978-939-5053 with any questions.
