1951 Jeep Other

For sale is an all original 1951 Willys Jeepster. It is in amazing original condition. It belongs to a friend of mine, Bruce. Bruce's uncle bought this Jeepster in the mid 50's in North Hollywood, where the Willy's remained until about 10 years ago when Bruce inherited it. Bruce still has the old California plates that the Jeep has worn most of its life, as well as registrations dating back to the 50's. This Willys is very much an untouched time capsule with the odometer showing just over 45,000 original miles. It features a 6 cylinder 226 Super Huricane engine with a three speed column shift overdrive transmission. It starts and runs like new, shifts well and the overdrive works. The clutch operates asnit should. The Willy's features a radio and heater. The original tan and black paint shines very well but is thin in spots. They are only original once, and this Willy's has just enough character to show it is very original. The upholstery is original and in great shape. Passenger seat folds as it should to access the back seat. The floors are extremely nice showing a lot of original paint. Since it has been in Bruce's family, it has always been stored indoors. It has had 50's vintage seat belts added, probably in the 50's. All lights work, it charges as it should. Doors open and shut very nice. All door panels are present, and bruce has the sun visors as well. The radio, wipers and a couple of gauges do not work, and Bruce has never investigated why. It drives very nice, steers easily and smoothly and runs very quiet. The top material is long gone, but the framework and latches are still in it and function as should. Bruce also has the original side curtains which are included. Bruce remembers the Jeepster as a child and says he always remembers the top being gone, and that it was only driven sparingly on nice days so his uncle never repaired he top material. There is absolute zero rust or rot that we can find. It is amazingly strait. It has one cracked wing window, otherwise all glass is great. Bruce wanted to leave the Willy's as original as possible, so small imperfections like the cracked wing window were left. Under the hood is amazingly clean and shows all of the original paint detail. All chrome and brightwork is in good shape, showing age but no dents, scratches or heavy rust. The whitewall tires are older but in good shape, with matching spare. This could be one of the nicest original Jeepster in existence. Bruce is getting older and decided maybe the Jeepster should go to a new family who can love it and enjoy it as much as bruce and his Family have for the past 60+ years. It needs nothing aside from enjoying and the top material replaced if desired.
