1972 GMC Jimmy Custom Sport Truck

Here we have a nice clean 1972 GMC Jimmy thats looking for a loving home. This is a complete recently restoring K5 that I purchased from a longtime owner last year. He had purchased it back in the middle 1980's. After starting a restoration on the Jimmy, it got pushed in the corner of his shop and sat there until I purchased it. He had the 350 engine and th350 rebuilt completely, and also had the front and rear axles rebuilt and changed from 3.07 to 3.73 gear ratio.I will do my best to describe what i've done to the truck since I've owned it. First I disassembled the entire truck, cleaned and sorted everything out. I was quite amazed at how rust free it was. It had new GM rocker panels already installed, the rocker boxes are rust free and solid, in front of the rear wheels down where they like to rust is all solid and has not been rusted. The entire cargo floor and rear wheel tubs are all solid and rust free. Both doors are rust free and have never been rusted, both front fenders are also completely rust free. Windshield frame, firewall areas, rust free as well. The Jimmy was wearing almost all of it's original paint so there was no surprises. I performed the little bodywork it needed, primed and blocked the truck numerous times. It was shot with PPG deltron base clear in the original Medium Blue color. It looks fantastic. I reassembled the Jimmy with many new parts, NOS GM parts, and good used parts both from my collection and parts the truck came with. The tailgate was a brand new in the GM box NOS that came with it, window regulators, inner fenders and many other parts are new GM.All lower trim is new, tailgate trim, lights, lens's etc are new. Bumpers are new, grille is restored. The windshield was removed prior to painting. Afterwards a new windshield and seal were installed using the original chrome strip. Most all weatherstripping, rubber seals, rubber bumpers are all new. I had pretty much all brackets, mounts etc sandblasted and powder coated the original satin black color. Including all seat mounts and brackets as well. The seats are all rebuilt and reupholstered in the original style material with new seat backs. Lots of money but they look absolutely perfect. All new ACC Molded carpet throughout, original style floor mats, new dash pad, new comfort grip steering wheel, the original console was completely disassembled and restored throughout. It is damage free and repair free.I had the wheels sandblasted and painted them. They are wrapped in brand new BF Goodrich 33x10.50x15 KO2's. I have owned hundreds of pairs of these tires. They perform and hold up second to none. The hubcaps are super nice, I would be ashamed to say how much I paid for them off of eBay. A ton!!I also installed 4 new premium shocks, new brakes, wheel bearings are all repacked with new seals. I had a local exhaust shop replace the entire exhaust front to back with all new aluminized pipe and Dynomax turbo mufflers. It sounds perfect. Not to loud and not to quiet. Even though the engine was all rebuilt, I still went though and replaced and refreshed a few things. New ACC plugs, new cap and rotor, upgraded the distributor to a big cap HEI, all new premium belts, new fluids again, rebuilt and dialed in the carb perfectly. Powder coated the air cleaner etc. New AC Delco premium battery and cables. The Jimmy starts rite up and runs like a million bucks. No funny noises, no leaks, no smoke on startup or anytime. No BS!! If it's warm out or is in the shop overnight, you don't even need to pump the throttle, it starts like a fuel injected truck. If it sits for a week though you may need too.The rest of the drivetrain is sound, everything is in working order.Iv'e replaced every light bulb in it, turn signals all work, headlights etc. Heater works great, windshield wipers work, speedometer works, brake lights, marker lights all good. windows all roll up and down smooth. The top is completely damage free and repair free. It is a true survivor. As well as the hatch, no previous damage. Both are still wearing the original texture they left the factory with. After disassembly, I lightly repainted both using the original eggshell white color. All hardeware is there and 100%. The hatch closes tight and the key locks and unlocks it effortlessly. The factory AC is 100% complete and works most of the time. Sometimes the compressor won't come on but if you mess with the wires on the compressor it'll start up.The odometer shows 62,000 and change, I imagine thats 162,000. There are numerous numerous parts and pieces iv'e replaced, rebuilt or restored on this K5. I could go on for another hour. I think Iv'e made my point. If it needed it, it got it basically.I have owned over 100 of these 69-72 K5's over the years and know them well. I can only post 24 pictures on my ad but am happy to send interested parties as many as they'd like. I can shoot video's too. This thing runs and drives down the road as good as it looks. I have many other Blazers and Jimmy's and have decided to part with this one. Though I'd love to keep it.If you are looking for a nice clean turn key Jimmy that you won't have to work on for 6 months after you buy it, this might be what your looking for. Everything I have done to to this truck has less than 100 miles on it. So it's all fresh.Obviously I have a ton of time and money in this truck. My reserve is very reasonable, it's not priced 10-20 grand higher than it's worth like so many others you see on here for sale. If you want to buy it now, get ahold of me and lets make a deal. Almost all of my vehicles sell before the auction is over.No warranties, vehicle is sold as is where is, I'm more than happy to assist in loading it on a trailer and working with your shipper. Iv'e done it many times. Buyer is responsible for any and all shipping costs. Ask all questions before bidding. Non paying buyers will be left negative feedback. No games please.Again I could go on and on, feel free to ask any questions. Happy bidding!!!
