1979 Chevrolet Camaro

For many years, econd-generation Camaros weren't on collectors' radar, ut it seems that all of a sudden they're red hot and we can't seem to keep them in stock. And yes, here are plenty of stock ones out there, ut this 1979 Camaro resto-mod speaks to us even more directly, ffering an awesome color combination, reat upgrades, nd a rock-bottom price that suggests it won't last very long at all.Basic black never goes out of style and on the long, ow, leek second-gen F-body, t always looks like a million bucks. And if you're expecting a beater at this price, uess again, ecause this one is really nicely finished. Not perfect, f course, ut when you pull into the local cruise night, eople are going to stop and watch you roll by. Details like the cowl-induction hood, hin spoiler, nd ducktail out back all enhance the performance look and it's been subtly updated with smoked taillight lens covers, inted windows, nd a billet lower grille, o it has a more modern look than many of its be-striped siblings. Black paint doesn't allow for sloppiness in the finish work, nd this one delivers a glossy surface and good sheetmetal underneath, ll of which lines up rather well. We'll also note that there are some very subtle ghost flames that span the front of the car and trickle down the doors, t just continues to add to the character of this car. There's no chrome or stainless trim because it's all been painted black to match, cool way of giving this vintage Camaro a more up-to-date look and we like it a lot.Black with a red interior is always a fantastic combination and the all-new red threads this one is wearing are a big part of why this car is such a screaming bargain. Just about everything inside is new, ncluding those sculpted red leather bucket seats that are much more form-fitting than the originals. The door panels were custom upholstered to match, s were the rear seats, nd there are red carpets with the right shag to fit right into the late '70s. You'll note there are power window switches on the center console, ight behind the Hurst cue ball shifter for the 4-speed manual transmission and a two-tone red and black sport steering wheel is front and center. Other goodies include a tilt wheel and even power locks. The instrument cluster was replaced with a wild engine-turned red anodized panel full of new gauges from Classic Instruments and there's a modern Alpine AM/FM/CD stereo head unit in the center stack. A/C is also part of the deal, omething you probably didn't expect at this price, nd even the trunk is fully finished with custom panels and more plush carpet.A built 350 cubic inch V8 makes this Camaro a blast to drive. A big 4-barrel Holley carburetor on an Edelbrock intake manifold gives it snappy throttle response, nd with a few well-chosen chrome bits, t has a great look under the hood. The A/C system is all-new and it includes power steering and power brakes to make it easy to handle for any driver. Long-tube headers feed a true dual exhaust system that sounds fantastic but doesn't get annoying on the highway. The bright red engine works well with the overall theme and the rest of the engine bay is quite clean. Four-wheel disc brakes were added and look great behind those 17-inch Billet Specialties wheels and staggered 255/40/17 front and 315/35/17 rear performance radials. We can't get over the bang for the buck that this cool black Camaro offers. There has to be far more than the asking price wrapped up in the build, o don't miss this chance to get a great car at a great price. Call now!
