The E9 is a timeless classic from the Bavarian automaker. Consider one of the most beautiful Bmw ever produce, this pillar-less coupe was built by Karmann. This 1972 CS- Automatic still has its original color combo : Fjord on blue cloth. It is one of the rare cars to feature a sunroof & AC-system.This car is a running and driving well but could use a paint job and aesthetic work. It is an excellent base for someone who has the ability to restore a car by himself. The car has its original service booklet as well as the owner manual. From the information we had, this 3,0CS has been garage kept all its life and never driven in the snow.

Condition:

BODY: The paint job is still shiny and looks good from a distance but will need to be redone. It does have a few rust bubbles and a couple scratches. Can it be saved ? probably but giving the fact a restored car sells in the 6 digits, the real solution would be to a proper paint job.

UNDERCARRIAGE:It does have some minor to moderate rust near the rocker panels. The driver side floor was replaced. The front frame rails are in perfect shape. Most of the floor is rustfree. Please look carefully at the pictures. There is no signs of previous accident anywhere on the car. The suspension mounts are free of rust (front and back).

DRIVETRAIN:The car seems to have a more recent M30 engine. The engine works fine, sounds in healthy condition and it doesn't seem to be leaking. The AC-system doesn't blow cold but is all there. Brakes are powerful and works as they should. The suspension system seems relatively new and is still firm.

The transmission is a little rough thru gears, a 4-speed or 5-speed conversion would be the best solution for it.

The exhaust has a small leak.

Tires are old, mounted on a set of original wheels in good condition. One of the centercap is missing.

INTERIOR: It seems to be all the original interior from 1972. The driver seat has more wear than the rest but is still presentable. The original radio is gone as well as the original steering. All the wood trims are in nice condition. The driver side window and the rear passenger quarter glass are not operating properly (they need to be pull up and down).

CHROME: Most of the chrome on this car is in excellent shape.
