This 1966 Volvo 1800 was sold new on October 25th 1966 at Burien Auto Sales in Seattle WA, sold to a local city official. The original owner gifted this 1800 to his nephew in 2018. Originalsales documents, manual, receiptsand ownership records are included with the purchase of this 1800. It's a really neat thing to have all the originaldocuments indicating all the originaloil changes at 3k, 6k, 12k and so on.
This Volvo 1800 runs and drives great, the stock SU carburetors are well balanced. The engine has strong compression, between 149-157 psi thru all 4 cylinders.(See photos in dropbox link) Brakes, clutch and M41+OD function as they should. The horn and clock are not functionalbut the radio is! (Very Rare) A recent oil change, plugs and wires, valves and a timing adjustment were recently done. It does have a custom instrumentcluster with intermittentwiper controls, push button start, emergency flashers and a voltmeter. The engine oil pressure is 45 psi at idle and 60-70 at higher rpms. The body has an older paint job from the mid 80's. There are some dings, dents, scrapes, checking, cracks and paint chips and a small spot of paint blisteringby drivers lower rocker. This 1800 does have a different shade of red on the front. The floors are great, totally rust free along with the jacking points. This is a very solid bodied 1800. This older paint job might not win any car shows, but no work is needed to drive as is. If you wanted to have this car resprayed it might win a few ribbons at a local show. :) All stock body seams are present, including the 4 rockers, 2 front and 2 rear seams.
The interior has the stock and original carpet and seats. The seats are cracked with seat covers and the stock dashboardsdo have imperfections. The oil, gas and tachometer are all functional, the speedo sticks a bit and the clock isn't functional. The rear seats do show age but the stock luggage straps are under the rear seat, a nice and rare feature. This is trulya fun older survivor that deserves to be enjoyed.
