1973 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Custom

this car belongs to a good friend of mine- and I'm listing it on eBay for him. He say's:Great fun car. The last time I had the vehicle on the road was in 2008. I commuted to work with it, approximately 25 miles each way. The very trick, customized exterior fabrication was done well - with many man hours required to achieve the results shown , but unfortunately the previous owner did not keep it in a garage and the cold New York winters took a toll on certain areas of the exterior and some of the paint. It needs some TLC and minor body work to become a show piece again, and then it will be ready to be enjoyed once more.
Do remember that this is an original metal body car with custom body mods - not a bunch of bolted on catalog sourced parts - this is a true custom in the purest sense - blood sweat, tears and time were used to make this car the envy of the neighborhood, but time has undone some of the efforts used - now it just needs the finishing touches to have it's best brought out -are you up to the challenge?The good stuff:

• it's in one piece
• it's runs and drives
• cool chopped top
• frenched dual antennas
• remote pop locks for the doors (not currently functional)
• custom whale tail (fiberglass)
• all glass in is place EXCEPT for the passenger door window which was broken in a garage/storage mishap
• car has been stored inside since I acquired it in '06
• nice chrome wheels
• bigger 1600cc motor w/ dual barrel Weber carburetor
• customer interior - rear area needs to be finished
• turn signals built into the headlight trim ring
• custom insert was made for the rear seat area- needs to have speakers installed (not supplied)
• has a custom color matched headliner

The bad stuff:paint came off hood - primer still in place- no rust (see picture)iffy bondo spot on roof near front leading edge from the chopped top -still has paint on it, but looks a little funnyrust on front bottom driver side fender (see picture)there is a street sign used as a patch panel over a rust spot on the left side behind the passenger seat- the passenger seat is sitting on top of the sign and is not fully bolted down at the moment
