1972 Triumph Spitfire mark IV

1972 Triumph Spitfire with GT6 2.0 six cylinder engine, drive train, bonnet and suspension. Prior owner did all the modifications. Quality of work is excellent. He installed a rotoflex rear suspension from a GT6 and it handles amazingly. Entire drive train is GT6. 4 speed, no overdrive. Engine mods include a hotter cam, extra oil line to the head, high torque starter, hi output alternator, electric fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, Mallory hot spark ignition, NGK iridium plugs, custom aluminum radiator with duel electric cooling fans with programmable temperature switch and a rerouted closed cooling system with tank. Body mods include stainless steel brake hoses, 2 hydraulic pistons to hold the bonnet open, new gas tank and sender. Seats and steering column are out of a later Spitfire. Drivers seat has a small tear on the outside of the bolster. Matched set of Panasport super lite wheels in excellent condition (320.00 each from Moss Motors). Tires look great but are old. Body has no rust but some hanger rash as shown in pictures. Car was Java green. Floors are solid and repairs were made as shown in the picture. Top is perfect and includes a tonneau cover. Turn indicators and horn need to be wired. No radio, spare or jack. Buyer also receives a Matching factory hardtop worth at least 1K by itself (no hardware or headliner, glass is intact) and a GT6 exhaust header in case the car is not loud enough or fast enough for you. The sale includes Spitfire and GT6 workshop manuals. She was garage kept by the previous owner and has been garage kept by me for the last 17 years. The Odometer shows 12k and change miles, I have no idea if that is accurate or 112K or 212K. The car is located just out side of Indianapolis.

The Spit 6 was a project of mine that just kept being pushed back until "later". Well, after 17 years I finally figured out that there won't be a later. The car starts, goes, turns and stops, however, it's a 52 Year old car that hasn't had 500 miles on it in the last 5 years so I suggest a good going through of the fluids, brakes, electrics and hydraulics before any long journey. I will be happy to work with any auto shipper.
