1972 Triumph GT6 MK3 | rotoflex | rusty | nice glass and strong engine | manuals
1972 Triumph GT6
Vehicle DetailsCondo association and health forcing sale. Not drivable, but set up for 4-down towing (see pic). Bad rust, including floor pans (damn well-fed sprinklers), and dented LH door. Unusual black side striping is dealer-installed option (Steelers black/saffron? lol). Replacement interior is shot, but has working period AM/FM radio and original mats and badges. All original Triplex tinted glass with rear defrost, strong unmolested engine, and Zenith-Stromberg (3426) 150CDSE carbs. Had to limp home in 3rd on last outing one year ago with gearbox issue (unresolved). Not OD. Serviceable tires. Just noticed today brake (master?) failure. Also, the engine has always started by the 2nd crank over the last 10+ yrs (am 3rd titled owner with ~7,500 miles), even after sitting for 3-6 months, except for today, when it would only turn over. Resolving this (most likely fuel) would require a second pair of hands, as the bonnet hinges have rusted out. This is an intriguing project car with Driver's Handbook and Workshop Manual by Bentley, Haynes Owner's Workshop Manual, Haynes Restoration Manual, Triumph GT6/2000 Competition Preparation Manual by Kastner (e.g., 94 to 133 BHP possible with ported head, tube exhaust, and special cam, on a ~2000 lb. car!), and parts CD included. Inspection invited. Cash on pickup.
