Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this very attractive and last year of production TR-6 Convertible. This car was recently purchased from it's Illinois seller who owned the car briefly after purchasing it from it's long term owner/restorer. The car shows very well in it's factory Carmine Red color. It runs and drives beautifully and needs very little to make it the perfect daily driver.The bodywork on this car is very good to excellent. Panel fit is per factory with excellent fitting doors, hood, and trunk. Paintwork is older and is showing a few small dings here and there from use. It was beautifully applied, color-sanded, buffed and polished and still retains a fantastic glossy finish today. Brightwork is very good to excellent original items. The car has a new tinted windshield fitted with a decent rubber gasket.The car's interior has been nicely restored as well. Seats have been reupholstered in black vinyl. Carpets are very decent and clean. The dashboard unit has been completely restored including a new top pad, two crashpads, switch plinth, solid teak dashboard facia. It shows beautifully. The interior panel kit is very nice. The car only needs a few rubber seals and a driver's sun visor renewed to make it's interior near perfect again. The car's soft top is newer but has suffered a few tears from being caught in the top frame, but is a simple replacement.The car's mechanicals are excellent. The engine starts instantly on the key and is well-tuned. It's a very smooth and healthy unit that revs well with great oil pressure with no smoke or noises. The gearbox, clutch, suspension, brakes, steering all feel very good and up to the mark. It's a lovely smooth quiet driving car that feels right at home on the road with a fantastic exhaust note. It rolls along nicely on it's attractive OEM Michelin Redline tires. They are a bit older, but roll out smoothly with still plenty of tread left. The car's engine compartment is clean and well-detailed. The underside looks normal for the car's age with a "dusting" of light oil and road dirt. We've noted a previous chassis repair / weld on the right hand front suspension inner pickup points. The car appears to be a 100% rustfree original.Overall, a very nice and highly attractive TR-6 in great colors. This car runs, drives, and sounds great out on the road. It's a lovely original with a nice older cosmetic restoration. It's a rewarding and smart buy going forward.
