1969 Plymouth Road Runner Project 383 N96 Convertible 4 Speed Manual

Price: - Item location: Verona, Virginia, United States
Description:

1969 Plymouth Road Runner

Up for bid is a true “N” code, 1969 Plymouth 383, 4 speed Roadrunner Convertible with a DANA 60 rear end.

A friend of mine lost the lease on his shop and had nowhere to store the car. I bought it from him with the intention of finishing the restoration but I have two in the works now and the addition of this car is just too much.

Here is how the fender tag decodes. (And yes it comes with the car).

We will do our best to tell you the good, the bad and the ugly that we have noticed about the car.

The floor pan and trunk pan have been replaced and the quarter panels have been trimmed to fit a convertible. The bad rust has been removed and most of the surface rust.

This is NOT a numbers matching car. The engine and transmission came from a 70 Roadrunner. The engine ran when it was removed, but that was in 2009. It should be rebuilt, or at least disassembled, inspected and resealed. I have installed the engine and transmission to make it easier to move.

There are some things that will need a lot of attention, like the convertible top frame. The front of it is badly rusted and I could not find anyone who is reproducing it. I'm sure it can be repaired. Please refer to the pictures, as we've taken a close up of the rust. The drivers side glass is missing. There are two outer wheel houses modified to fit the convertible The rear bumper was sent out and re-chromed, but the front bumper is missing. The rear deck lid is in good shape, with little to no rust – and these are not being reproduced. There is no hood but all of the parts for the air grabber are there, to include the cable. There is a manual steering gear installed to move the car around, but the power steering gear is included. The car comes with the rear seat and front bucket seat frames. The bright work is there and I believe I have included more than the car would have had. There are many parts that are being included, but they are too numerous to mention. Most are shown in the pictures. Some of the parts are new, or restored, or needing to be restored. Also included is a large box of common hardware.

We are limited to 40 pictures, but have many more. Just ask if you would like to see something in particular.

It is the buyers responsibility to arrange for pickup. Good luck in your bidding.
