1957 Ford Fairlane

1957 Ford Fairlane 500. I'm selling for a friend who's 80 years old and this is the last for now from selling off 4 of his other Fords. The engine has been swapped out to a 289 that has an edelbrock intake and carburetor, headers, and power steering power brakes. It runs, drives, and stops excellent. The interior is nice with added velour inserts on the seats. At one time someone had painted the car red by the engine compartment but I do not see any remaining red on the body. The paint is delaminated as seen in the photos. The Colorado sun is brutal on all cars and as you can see this one was not spared but the arid climate also preserves the sheet metal. With a KY paint code this would have been the black and coral combination which you do not see very often. The trunk doesn't have a lock in it so I took the picture from inside the car as I wasn't going to try to use a screwdriver or drill to butcher my way inside of it. The bumpers are as good as you'll find and a huge savings as most others are dented up and need rechroming. The trim has a few dings on it and the gold inserts are excellent. I'd think if you're looking for a 57 and a rust free project for the winter, this would be an excellent choice. Being from Northern Illinois, I know the condition of nuts and bolts you have to snap off and the sheet metal cost to replace from any car over 5 or 6 years old let alone from a 1957 thats rust free. I'd gladly invite anyone to come take a look to get another opinion but to me this seems like a very easy car to redo...or drive as is. There is supposedly a stereo that was 1000s of dollars in this. I neither know how to work it nor care. It's a car sale not a stereo sale. No Reserve
