The MG had been owned by a long time British Car enthusiast that had used the "C" sparingly over the years. The MG received a restoration back in the day and it was estimated that close to 10K was spent redoing the body and other aspects of the car.
Mechanicallythe MG will need a bit of work to be a reliable driver. Some of that work has already been started, including a brand new gas tank and fuel pump. The carbs have been rebuilt however there is additional work that will be needed with the fuel system. The engine starts, but does not stay running. Unfortunately I do not know enough about these carbs to resolve this issue. The starter motor is making noise and will need to be addressed. The brakes are not working and will need to be bled. The brake booster was bypassed at some point. The cable for the emergency brake has been disconnected. There are no air filters. Has good working battery.
TheInterioris in excellent condition and shows very little wear. The seats are in great condition with no rips or tears. The carpet is correct type and may be original. The carpet is in excellent condition and shows very little wear as with the rest of the interior. The original factory rubber mats are all in good condition. The door panels are in nice shape. The dash is in good condition with the exception of 1 dash crack. The gauges and switches are all in nice condition. There is a custom radio block off which eliminated the radio mount. It is fitted with a beautiful period correct wood steering wheel.
The body had been restored at a great expense back in the day. The MG looks great, however the MG developed some rust issues over the years, primarily while in storage. Although the body shows virtually no rust, there is rust behind the rocker panels and on the floor pans. There is also rust in the front wheel well near the engine compartment. The trunk is in solid condition as shown in the pictures. There is evidence of previous repairs that are not the best quality. There are other misc areas of rust that has developed over the years that would be expected from a 50 year old British Sports Car.
ONCE AGAIN....A NO RESERVE AUCTION!
