Beautiful and rare, this first generation diesel manual 1980 Mercedes-BenzGeländewagen Wagon is a vintage SUV.

It is an early European model 4wd Diesel short wheelbase. With a five cylinder, 88HP naturally aspirated diesel engine. These motors have legendary reliability. It has a four-speed manual transmission with shift-on-fly 4X4, together with front and rear differential locks.
The lights and turn signals and heat work. No air conditioning. And, it has power steering.
When I purchased it in 2006, the odometer was inoperable. It reads 116561 km, which is roughly 102 miles. I’ve probably put 50,000/miles total.
It has a professionally installed veggie tank, which was so great to drive for free.
I maintained it well for years, except for the last 10 - 12 years I parked it outside and didn’t drive it.
