1983 Mercedes 380SL Roadster R107 Chassis Only 62075 original miles Stunning Black over Dove Grey Leather interior. We are very happy to be representing this fine Mercedes Benz Roadster. which has been well preserved over its lifetime. It has both tops. with a like new Mercedes cloth soft top. This car is all-original and is a very desirable color combination. These R107 chassis Mercedes are some of the fastest appreciating 3-pointed Star cars. The classic styling. open-air flexibility and somewhat modern drive and reliability make them an easy classic to own. The hard top installed makes this car all but a coupe in drivability. but then you can remove the hard top for open air motoring. and still have a great German soft top to protect you and the vehicle from the elements. The robust 3. 8l V8 has plenty of power and runs smooth like German engineering should. The 380SL where a big step up form the earlier 450 in comforts. such as a much better climate control system. finer leather seats. and more finished interior. The V8 puts out 215 hp. which is plenty to get this little roadster down the road. These cars were some of the most expensive MBZ’s produced during the time. costing over 43k. more than 5k over a Porsche 911 in the same year. These cars are easily maintained. with little issues of earlier Mercedes. They do not suffer from rust or other classic car issues. Driving this car is a pleasure overall. it performs great and all functions work. as they should. It is mostly original paint that looks very good from 5 feet. but does have some imperfections up close form time and wear. It has not had any accidents and the entire panel fitment is very good. The car does come with all the original owners manuals and service booklet. This car shows how well all the stamps in the booklet maintained it. It is getting hard to find cars with proper documentation like this anymore. The original wheels were chrome when the car came to us. and we had the old peeling chrome stripped off. and the wheels refinished in proper silver metallic paint. The underside of the car is un-damaged. with no major leaks present. All the tires match and have lots of tread life left. The leather seats are in very good original condition. this is really where you can see this car has had little use and these are original miles to the car. Only thing we would change is to remove the Clifford alarm panel in the center console. It also. we would guess at the same time had a Sony stereo installed at the same time. along with speakers installed. These where 80’s must haves. but now are very antiquated.
