This Classic 1981 Jeep CJ7 is very RUST FREE and very original. Nevada CJ that has been adult owned and well cared for all its life. SEE VIDEO! All the running gear, motor, transmission, clutch, rear end parts, new one piece axles, U joints, suspension, fuel system, brakes and so on rebuilt in restoration. All 4 wheel drive also like new working order. It's as reliable as a new one. Only 3,000 proven, driven reliable miles on what you see today. It runs outstanding and very fun to drive! Howell TBI fuel injection upgrade added to motor after motor rebuild. Added for better power and performance over stock! This CJ7 is a True Factory RENEGADE. I also believe this Jeep retains it's original paint based on the condition of paint when i bought it. Kinda of ugly, no shine to paint, very dull from sun fading over many years. I also had a local classic car painter in my area inspect the paint for me just to confirm if my thinking was correct! He pulled a few body rubbers - hinges - looked at every thing in great detail and told me it's original paint! The prior owner also told me original paint on Jeep when I bought it and also said he bought if from a family friend that bought it new! Ok we all think original! Paint Is what it is and I do believe it's original paint. Also because the original Renegade decal package is still on Jeep 37 years later and it shows aging as 37 year original decal would! No trace of masking line on edge of original decals. If Jeep was painted after the fact you could tell from decal edge around Jeep and for sure on hood area per painter. I found nothing, painter found nothing making us both think it is original paint. But it's really nice original paint for it's age for sure! All body metal is rust free and original to this Jeep! * The body paint and decals retained in restoration to keep it very original in exterior looks, making it a very nice rare survivor quality body and the decals support it. FYI = It took me 30 plus labor hours just to bring the paint back to life. I could of repainted the entire Jeep in that time frame. Saved me no labor time at all, but original paint tells you no body damage repairs hiding under fresh paint was my thinking! Original better in the long run for new buyer also. So started with soap and water, wash with soap. Mask off ever decal not to damage them with buffer. Then fine scotch brite and wash again. Then color sand paint with 2,000 wet and dry paper. Wash then re-color sand with 3,000 wet and dry - go slow or you will cut the paint off it. Then go to cutting compound, then finish compound, then final glaze compound, then wax and them finish it off with high speed re buff with polish wheel to give it a nice wet glass shine look. Jeep came out outstanding for old paint. SEE PHOTOS and VIDEO! (Jeep is not in need of a repaint ) very respectable and shows as a true survivor should. SEE VIDEO I cover everything in great detail. I even included a short video clip "showing you" the before and after cut polish on the hood. The inside of Jeep was gutted and cleaned. Any floor area inside Jeep with heavy scuffing or exposed metal from foot traffic and cargo over the years where touched up by paint fogging only on that area of exposed metal. Not all of inside needed paint. Much of inside paint still original SEE VIDEO . Then all floors areas inside clear coated to keep it original as possibleand protected paint better for many years to come. The under hood area still all original the motor bay area only cleaned after service then clear coated to return firewall and inner fenders paint back to a nicer gloss shine. The bottom floor pans and frame cleaned and then finished in a SEM water proof / anti rust coating to keep them nice from the road elements for many more years to come. Original floor pans, no rust in pans!SEE BOTTOM SIDE PHOTOS & VIDEO. NO LEAKS under this Jeep, that's always nice! It's very sanitary! Every thing inside and out on Jeep was inspected, repaired as needed or replaced to ensurelike new reliabilityand function. SEE electrical VIDEO everything work! This is a Classic CJ7 the new owner can take pride of ownership in. This Jeep CJ7 is history at it's best for a Jeep CJ7 that is still very original in so many ways.
