The car drives beautifully. The engine, transmission, power steering and suspension are all operating correctly. This is a correct left hand drive American export car with all red tail lamps, clear glass front flashers and chrome horn grills. Performance upgrades include: high output brake booster, high torque gear reduction starter, high capacity alloy radiator, XK140 air cleaners, coombs-style narrow racing spats. The original radiator, wide spats, and large pancake air cleaner are completely restored and will accompany the car.
The car is in New York State licensed and NYS inspected and all ownership documents are in order. All identification plates and stampings on the car are original and untouched. The car is in Rochester, New York. I am 10 minutes from the Rochester airport and I can pick up a prospective buyer for a car inspection and test drive. Bring your mechanic for an inspection of every aspect of the car.
Current costs for a true rotisserie restoration are extremely high and the JD Power/NADA valuation for this car reflect that.(low retail $34,000, Average retail $91,000 and high retail $135,500)I am selling this car at a very low opening bid to ensure that it sells.I am not a dealer. I restore these Mark 2 Jaguars as a hobby.
I have many more photos showing the restoration and close-up details. I also have a number of videos of the restoration and the car being started and driven. Let me know if you would like to see these.
