JAGUAR E-TYPE 4.2 LITER SERIES 1 ROADSTER. NICE ATTRACTIVE DRIVER. 49,848 MILES.
1967 Jaguar E-Type FACTORY HARDTOP. 5-SPEED. MATCHING #'s ENGINE.
Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this very attractive E-type Roadster finished in the desirable color scheme of Golden Sand/Tan. This car was built at the end of April of 1967 and is believed to be one of the first cars produced with the open headlamp bonnet. The car still retains all of the other Series One features such as the Gold head with triple carburetors, toggle switches, eared knock-offs, etc. and unofficially became known as the Series 1.25 of the 1 1/4.This car was restored from a believed low mileage car when it recently resided in Canada. It was sensibly and partly restored to a very nice standard, possibly during a time when values weren't as high as they were today, when a $200,000 Concours rebuild is currently the norm. The car appears to have had a nice body-on cosmetic restoration including good bodywork and paint, chrome, rubber, full interior re-trim, cloth top, tires, detailed engine bay, exhaust system, etc. The car includes a matching factory hardtop, upgraded 5-speed gearbox, and exhaust headers. The paintwork on this car is very attractive in it's believed original Golden Sand color. Panel fit looks good, with doors, hood, and trunk fitting well enough. In a certain flourescent lighting, there is some variance in panel color. Chromework has been renewed along with a rubber kit. The windshield glass is the original. The car's interior has been completely renewed in beautiful Jaguar Tan leather. The whole dashboard facia and top pad appear to be the original, in very nice condition. The car is well fitted with a newer black cloth soft top.Mechanically, the car's engine starts easily on the key with good running oil pressure (40lbs), no smoke or noises, runs cool, and revs very well. The car has plenty of power and transmits it through it's upgraded 5-speed gearbox. Brakes, suspension, steering all feel good. The car could benefit possibly from some correct-sized tires. The wheels look newer. The car's underside looks excellent, solid, and 100% rustfree. IT could benefit from some easy detailing (trunk, suspension).Overall, an extremely attractive motorcar that runs and drives well. This car still retains it's original matching numbers engine block and head, stamped picture frame, body tag, and is believed to be an original Sand car with the bonus of a restored factory hardtop. A very well priced Series One Roadster, this car can be driven and enjoyed without too much worrying. Please look at all pictures and call or email with any questions.
