1976 Ford Mustang

This 1976 Ford Mustang II MPG has had only 2 owners and is looking for a third to add to its 40k original miles. This is a true garage find, in totally original condition.
In 2021, the carb was cleaned and rebuilt and the following was replaced: the cap, ignition rotor, plug wires, radiator hoses, drive belts, thermostat, spark plug, radiator cap, fuel tank sending unit, fuel tank, radiator (real metal one, not plastic), battery cables, starter solenoid, all 5 tires (Hankook All Seasons), headlight switch, fuel pump, alternator, voltage regulator, water pump, brake master cylinder, shock absorbers, and timing belt. Additionally, the wheel bearings were cleaned and repacked.
The vehicle only had 35k on it when we brought it home, but the 2.3L engine was torn down for an inspection a ring job was performed. To aide in night driving, a Hella H4 headlight conversion and a relay kit was installed.
The interior is in great shape with no cracking on the dash or vinyl seats. The wood grain panels on the dash are complete. The seat belts are aftermarket replacements. There is an aftermarket radio but it does not really work. The HVAC does not work in any way. A leaking heater core has been bypassed and the underhood air conditioning parts are missing. The undercarriage has been coated with Fluid Film twice to reduce rusting. The original owners manual, bill of sale, and factory build sheet for the car are included.
This is a solid driving car and it has had approximately 5000 miles put in it since 2021. It can be driven home as-is, no trailer needed.
The car has patina. There is staining on the paint in several places that appears to be tree sap or similar that was not cleaned off for a long time. There is a small amount of body damage on the drivers rear wheel well. The front lower valance is missing. The weather striping, especially on the driver’s door, needs replaced. Other than these issues, the car is remarkably straight. The vinyl top is in amazing shape with no tears or looseness.
This car is a time capsule. It’s a solid cruiser that can either be enjoyed as-is or become the beginning of a creative build. The Mustang II is starting to get some love again. It is no longer the complete butt of jokes about 70s cars because everybody loves an underdog!
