Description:

1968 Ford Torino

  • This 1968 R-Code Torino was ordered by the Tasca dealership in early 68 for Bob Jr. it was ordered with 428Cj Auto option and was run with the factory motor for a short period of time before they installed the 427 Tunnelport motor. It was Bob Tasca jr personal car in high school and is the car he scribed his and his girlfriends name into the steering wheel horn, she (Jane) later became his wife. There is a pic of Bob

holding the horn button and one of him and his wife at the 2016 Tasca dealership car show, at that show Bob verified it was his car that is mentioned in the “Tasca Ford Legacy” book and he shared many stories about the car. It was featured in the Rare Finds section in Muscle Car Review magazine and on the Hot Rod magazine web page.It was ran by Tasca from 1968 to early 1969 and then it was sold to a local service station owner who was known to have many quick street cars, it was used for street action through the early 70’s. It was found in 1980 sitting next to a service station by a friend of the gentleman who purchased it and owned it until his passing in 2015.At that time it under went a mechanical and lite cosmetic restoration, paint is 80% original. It was brought back to driving condition so it could be enjoyed as is.When it was found it had 23,280 miles on it and now has about 23,700.It has been used for local car shows and made a couple of trips down the drag strip where it ran low 12’s without leaning on it. Car is in great shape and is open to viewing on a lift. Will entertain partial trades towards the winning bid price. Looking for a 67/68 mustang fastback or other interesting vehicles. $500 non refundable down payment to be made within 24 hours of auction end and the only form of payment is cash or preferably a bank wire transfer. Thanks, Chris 860-867-7173
