1956 Ford Other Pickups1956 Ford F100Short bed / Step side / "Custom Cab" / Unrestored
Up for your consideration is my hard to find 1956 Ford F100 "Custom Cab", Step Side / Short Bed. As you can see from the pictures the patina on the truck is pretty cool. It's came out of Wyoming (nice and dry) and has been in my indoor climatecontrolledstorage since coming to Utah.
Highly sought after '56 F100 "Custom Cab"
Back window and windshield both in great shape with no cracks
Highly sought after Short Bed / Step Side
Bench seat upholstery is nice and without tears or splits in seams
Uncut dash with factory gauges
Brand new die stamped steel "NOS" Running Boards and hardware from Classic Auto Parts Group in OK. (I used a bit of rattle can magic on them to match them to the rest of the truck)
Lots of tread left on tires(newer Ford chrome wheels and radial tires put on recently)
No evidence of collision / body lines and gaps straight and even
Minimal rust considering it's unrestored condition(from what I can see there is no excessive body filler on the truck or attemptedamateur body repairs with the exception of the eyebrow area above the passenger side headlight.)
Engine is NOT seized and I was able to start it and hear it run. I can provide a video clip of the engine running.
Freshly gone over with Scotch Brite finishing pad to lightly smooth paint and surface rust. Ready for you to clear coat it if you'd like to preserve the patina.
No rust / rot along, or in, the drip rails
No rust / rot under roof lip above windshield
No rust / rot around windshield or back window
Frame is straight and solid with only expected surface rust
Original "3 on the tree" manual transmission
Steering seems to be tight and quite easy for being manual steering
Clutch engages as it should and easily shifts into all gears
Considering theage ofthe truck the bed wood appears to be original and is nearly all intact and quite solid (see photos)
Entire bed isvery solid and rot free .. bed walls, tailgate, and steel trim rails inthe bed are all solid and intact with the exception of minor surface rust.
Front bed wall is nice and straight with dents or bends like in most older unrestored trucks.
Both front and rear bumpers appear to beoriginaland are straight and in great shape
Chrome grille polished up nicely and is ingreat shape
Rockers are solid with no rust through
Rear shocks are air shocks
Overall great shape considering ageandunrestored
Glass in both doors is cracked, HOWEVER, included inthe sale is OEM glass from another F100 for both doors (including both vent windows)
Drivers side exterior cab corner has some typical rust, however, it's very minimal. (easily repaired, close up photos of inner and outer cab corners available on request) Passenger side cab corner is in great shape, solid
Both inner fenders have some rust only near the upper rear area. Included in the sale is an additional inner fender for the driver side.
Rear inner fenders in great shape with only expected minor surface rust ... not rot or rustthrough
Drivers side floor pan (left foot area) has some rustthrough. (see photos)
Both lower rear fenders (where they meet the running board) had some rustthat looks as though it was cut out by previous owner. Both rear fenders still attached to new running boards. There is also some rustthrough in the "eyebrow" area above both headlights.
When I hooked up a battery the headlights didn't wor, but the lighter did. Haha. Electrical will need attention but it appears to all there. Needstaillights, however all wiring is there.
Although the bench seat upholstery is in good shape the inner foam padding is dried out and will need replacing. (it's very dry in Wyoming)
Although I was able to get it started and keep it running I did so with shooting starter fluid directly into the carburetor ... it will need a thoroughtune up before it will run and drive. I installed brand new spark plugs before getting it started. It seems the carburetor is pretty gummed up. Spark is good. I didn't changethe oil or drain the coolant ... both the oil and the coolant looked pretty clean and clear. (I have pictures of both if youwant to see untouchedcondition of the fluids)
LOOK AT THE PICTURES CLOSELY TO SEE WHAT I'VE DESCRIBED. I CAN SEND MORE DETAILED PHOTOS TO SERIOUS BUYERS IF REQUESTED. OVERALL, THE TRUCK IS IN GREAT SHAPE FOR BEING 63 YEARS OLD AND UNRESTORED. THIS IS A "BARN FIND" THAT HAS BEEN STORED INDOORS IN A BARN IN WYOMING FOR APPROXIMATELY THE LAST 15 YEARS. I WAS TOLD BY THE SELLER (WIDOW TO THE MAN WHO OWNED IT) THAT HE DROVE AND ENJOYED THE TRUCK UP UNTIL HIS PASSING ABOUT 5 YEARS AGO. I'VE OWNED THE TRUCK FOR NEARLY 2 YEARS AND AM ONLY SELLING BECAUSE I MOVED TO A SMALLER STORAGE AREA AND HAVE TO LET SOME TOYS GO.
The truck can be enjoyed as is and/or isdefinitely worthy of a full restoration if new owner desires.
I can't emphasize enough that if youhavequestion, please ask them before bidding. I've beenactive oneBay for 16 years and I value my feedback. I have bought and sold MANY old vehicles oneBay and have had all 100% positive transactions up until recently. A truck I sold a few months ago ended up falling short of the buyer'sridiculousexpectations in spite of answering all his questions and the many pictures. He chose to give me negative feedback and accuse me of being "dishonest" and of "horriblymisrepresenting the truck". It'sunfortunate he chose to do that and I'm currently seeking recourse througheBay. Worst caseeBay needs to allow sellers the chance to post a rebuttal and to give feedback on the buyer. eBay needs to step up to the plate and allow sellers a fair shake at defending themselves asthey allow buyers freereign to slam yourfeedback and good name without just cause. Anyway, enough moaning about that. I want the new owner to behappy with theirpurchase just as I want to be happy with the sale.
Reason for the sale .... I simply have too many vehicles and not enough time or space to enjoy them all.

Housekeeping:Please ASK ALL QUESTIONS, have funds in place, and permission BEFORE bidding. It takes a lot of time and money to list on ebay and I don't want to waste my, or anyone elses, time. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer, but I'm willing to help on my end to make sure all goes well with your transport at pick up time. Truck is 63 years old and is being sold AS IS with no warranty expressed or implied. PLEASE KEEP YOUR EXPECTATIONS IN LINE WITH WHAT YOU ARE WILLING TO BID AND RESEARCH VALUES AND OTHER SIMILAR TRUCKS BEFORE BIDDING. I'm not a dealer. I've described the vehicle as straight forwardly as I can. To serious bidders, if you want to see ANYTHING that isn't pictured I'm happy to take additional photos of what you'd like to see and email them to yo, just ask. I'm willing to discuss the truck on the phone with serious buyers, simply email me your phone number and I will call you. I'll consider ending the aution early if you would like to make an offer that's good for both of us. Good Luck !!
