Description:

1967 Ford F-250

For sale: 1967 Ford F-250 western survivor with big block FE power and dealer A/C. Ordered new at Fairway Ford in Placentia, CA with heavy duty options for use with a camper as a weekend truck. Driven up to Montana in he late 90s, when the original owners retired. It was seldom used after that, and ultimately parked in long term storage. I had a professional mechanic drain the gas and do the work needed to get it running and driving, and go over the truck. Complete and correct original, still has original jack, handle, and spare tire still in the carrier, and original washer bag under the hood. Marti report shows one of 166 in this color combo, Marti report included along with original brochures and maps. California black plates shown are included with truck. I'll do my best to describe this special truck below, PLEASE see the Photobucket album link below with over 100 pics including the underside.

Exterior: Original paint with a few touch-ups, and great patina. Clean, straight truck with a few dings as shown, and a dent at lower left front of box. Really presents well and draws a lot of compliments. Truck is very tight and doors close like a bank vault. Thanks to a life out west, truck was saved from the salt and rust is very minimal with no rot. I'd say 98 percent rust free. Only a couple small holes as shown at bottom of front fenders where dirt accumulates and holds moisture. Underside looks very dry with only minor surface rust, even the factory chalk marks are still visible. Cab mounts and floors look great, and of course we don't see frame rot out here. Inside of box is in good shape owing to years of camper use - wheel wells and box floor is not beat up as you see with most of these F250s. There was some surface rust in a few areas inside the box that I treated with converter product and touched up the paint. Nothing is covered up or hidden with bedliner or undercoat, what you see is what you get. Tailgate was replaced at some point. Please see linked Photobucket album for detail pics. Just an honest survivor to use as is or take to the next level.

Interior: All original in good survivor condition. Dash is cracked under mat, original seat upholstery in good condition, not torn up but has a few stains. Original floor mat cracked in several spots. Windows roll up and down and doors lock. Glass is good and windshield is new, a few scratches in driver side window. I think everything works but the radio. Gauges, lights, wipers, heater, horn, etc working. A/C components are all present and fan blows, belt is off. All the unique 1967-only bits are there. Tonneau style snaps were added around the inside rear window for a camper seal. Decent enough that the wife won't mind riding in it.

Mechanical: Starts, runs, and drives out fine. Truck was well maintained and original 352 pulls strong with no noise, smoke or major leaks, and has good oil pressure. Since getting it running, I've put perhaps 100 miles on it around town. Truck drives tight and nice without the usual squeaks and rattles. 16.5" tires are old and will need replacement. Muffler and 2.5" tailpipe are new, does have the typical leak when cold at the manifold donut. All the A/C components appear to be intact and it blows air, compressor pulley turns freely, but belt is off. I'm sure it will need further sorting as you drive it more. At one time the truck had an auxilary fuel tank, it was removed at one point and it's currently running on the main tank. Original D6TA Autolite stamped alternator is noisy, and occasionally the throwout bearing will chatter, and one brake grabs a bit. Nothing major, just the usual old truck stuff, if you haven't fooled with vintage vehicles before, adjust your expectations accordingly. Great truck to drive as is and restore as you go.

Pricing/Misc: This truck is NO RESERVE and will sell. If you've been looking lately, you already know that prices on 67-72 Ford trucks have gotten nutty. This truck runs and drives, but flying in and driving it home isn't a great idea, as Montana is a huge state with many remote areas with no cell service or roadside assistance. Reasonable transport is available, I will drive truck to meet your transporter and help load it. Title is clear and in my name, buyer will need to get insurance upon purchase as I will cancel mine. Truck can stay here for 30 days, after that $100/month storage will be due.
