For sale: 1969 Ford F250 Custom Cab original survivor with heavy duty camper options. Same owner from mid 1970s to 2020. Sold new at Bison Motors in Great Falls, MT and never left the Rocky Mountain Front. Truck was used as a summer recreational rig with a camper shell and a small fishing boat at nearby Glacier and Yellowstone national parks. While not a Camper Special, it was ordered from the factory with the heavy duty camper options and 9000 GVW. It has HD shocks and springs, 70 amp battery, dual tanks, and side tool storage box. Meticulously cared for, it's in great condition. Includes original manuals, key fob, license plate, brochures, and Marti Report. Spare tire is still in original carrier under the truck, and it's still wearing one of it's original FOMOCO script headlights. PLEASE see the Flickr album link with pics including the underside in the description below, and the YouTube walk around/start up video.
Exterior: Very nice survivor condition. Rare Pebble beige paint is mostly original and still shines. Cars n coffee driver condition, not a concours show truck. Paint has been touched up in a few places, most notably hood and tailgate. There are some extra holes in cowl area from camper mounts. Overall very straight truck, even inside of box is clean with one ding at the back of wheel well. Very dry with no serious rust or rot that I can see. A few small spots of surface rust on box floor where scratched by camper as shown. I believe the truck has never seen salt, and the underside looks great with only a few small spots at very bottom of the cab dropoffs -hard to see but look closely at Flickr album pics. Cab mounts, floors, cab supports look good, and of course we don't see frame rot here out west. Again, see underside pics in Flickr album below. Truck presents very well and draws a crowd wherever you stop. Just an honest survivor to use as is or take to the next level.
Interior: All original in good driver condition. Seat had a cover from day one and original upholstery is very nice. Doors close like a bank vault. Dash has a warp in the center and small crack near speaker. Headliner is nice, windshield has a large rock chip. All gauges work, and all lights work. Heater, wipers and parking brake all work. Windows roll up and down and doors lock. Aftermarket fog lights work, tach and 8 track not working. No rodents or smells, very clean and even the wife will enjoy driving it. There are some Kmart speakers mounted in door panels for the 8-track, if you like I can source and include some good used uncut panels. Nice driver that's ready for trips to the Steak-N-Shake or Home Depot.
Mechanical: Starts, runs, and drives out well. Original 360 is very strong with no noticeable smoke, leaks, or noises. Visible casting numbers are the correct C8TE stampings. Truck was driven regular maintenance miles, and wasn't sitting fallow in a field. Fuel didn't sour in either tank. Brakes do pull to one side, most likely needs a wheel cylinder. Throw out bearing is a bit noisy at times. Split rim wheels were upgraded to the one piece Camper Special rims with Firestone Transforce 10 ply 9.50-16.5 tires. Tires appear to be in excellent condition, and are the recommended modern tire for these trucks. Spare is an original split rim. Truck has no urgent needs, but keep in mind that it is an older rig, and will need maintenance along the way. If you live in a state with very strict vehicle inspections, they will probably find something for you to fix, so expect that. With 4.10 gear, it's not an 80mph Interstate cruiser but it will get you there if you're not in a huge hurry. These trucks are noted for reliability and build quality, virtually a rolling anvil on wheels. Relatively simple to work on for the average shadetree mechanic.
