He purchased it from an older gentleman here in Idaho who was moving and had owned this car since the late seventies and had brought the car to Idaho from California. It still retains its correctly mounted - FACTORY ORIGINAL - cowl mounted Datsun VIN plate - FACTORY ORIGINAL - correctly mounted engine bay mounted Datsun DATA plate - FACTORY ORIGINAL - correctly mounted - glove box mounted Datsun tire information tag - FACTORY ORIGINAL - correctly mounted driver's door jamb mounted Data and VIN tag. I assure you it runs and drives very well indeed !! It is a smooth driver in town and cruises down the freeway easily and smoothly. At the heart of this Datsun 280Z is the FACTORY ORIGINAL - STRONG !! - NUMBERS MATCHING !! - Code "L28"- 2.8 Litre six cylinder motor that is running VERY well indeed. The motor also sports its factory original Bosch L-Jetronic fuel injection, factory original Datsun valve cover, factory original air cleaner housing and factory original "Square exhaust ports" exhaust manifold. Sounds GREAT too with the original style exhaust system. The engine is backed by a SMOOTH - four speed transmission that also functions well. The Brown and Black 280Z interior is in NICE condition including good Brown front bucket seats, good Brown "fold-down" rear seats - NICE FACTORY ORIGINAL Black door panels, VERY NICE, BRAND NEW Brown carpeting, good FACTORY ORIGINAL Datsun 280Z steering wheel, NICE FACTORY ORIGINAL gauge clusters, VERY NICE FACTORY ORIGINAL Brown sun visors and a good Black dash. All of the ORIGINAL black rubber weatherstripping is still in good condition for being original. The BEAUTIFUL !! - Code "301" - Light Brown Metallic exterior finish is EYE POPPING BEAUTIFUL showing a few chips and imperfections but still looks bright, shiny and BEAUTIFUL as you can clearly see in the pictures !! The suspension and drive line seem to be in good working order as well as the electrical system. Check out the BEAUTIFUL 14 inch Cast Aluminum wheels with 14" steel belted radial tires with very little wear, boy does this combination look OUTSTANDING on this 280Z !! All of the Chrome and Stainless Steel exterior body trim and moldings are in good condition including good FACTORY ORIGINAL Badging. All of the light lenses are clear, bright and in NICE condition. This is a NICE - DRY - SOLID - California - Idaho - High Mountain desert western car and it shows !! In my opinion the FACTORY ORIGINAL floors on this car are about as solid as your ever going to find !!
