Description:

1973 Datsun Z-Series 240z

1973 240Z with Chevy V8 350
Car runs and works perfectly. Setup to use as daily driver. Was never abused.
Engine is from a 1970 Chevelle with the high performance package. Transmission is a Borg Warner T5 (5 Speed). Original rear axle with custom aluminum driveshaft. All items noted below have receipts with details. We have owned the car for over 10 years and I believe we are the third owner. Car was a father son V8 conversion project for us. Car is being sold because it just doesn't get driven enough to make sense to own. Car starts on the first time and feels great. Mileage shows 59,300 - I believe it is 159,300, but there is no way to be sure.
Installed roll bars and other protection as well as mounting for Simpson belts. Installed air conditioning (blows cold) at over $3,000. All new suspension (springs, shocks, steering rack). Brake lines have been replaced. Don't have the receipts but seats have been replaced (see photos). All gauges are from the 240Z and have all been adapted to the Chevy V8. Additional temp gauge in glove compartment for backup to the primary one. Older Sony CD player installed.

Full Disclosure:Tach is sticking a bit. Car has not been driven much over the last few years, so I suspect that if it was removed and some light oil applied it would fix this.
Over a ten year period a few rust spots have opened on the paint. The biggest one is over the drivers side roof. The other ones are fairly minor - and I believe the car has lived in California as far as what the seller told me. In my opinion the spots were not repaired as well as they could have been at the last paint job.
Paint job was never the best (it was painted prior to us purchasing). It looks ok from a distance but it doesn't appear to be a high end paint job. The body is straight however and there is no evidence of a serious accident ever.
After we installed the AC, on a longer drives (freeway) in warm weather the car starts to run warm/hot. We added a pusher fan to go with the puller fan to try and alleviate, but with no success. Around town or on short driving, it's perfect. The heater and AC on the unit work great. Car runs between 160 and 180 normally. With the AC on it pushes close to 190 to 200. As soon as you turn the AC off it cools right down. We were going to replace the radiator but since we mostly drive the car around town it is not a big deal. The good thing is when the weather is hot, you can turn it on and cool things right down. Just not on a longer trip in hot weather.
SummaryThis is a car you can buy and drive right away and enjoy. It has been well maintained, and I've tried to describe as best I can. The paint is workable, but with a new paint job car would show very nicely as the interior is fresh. As mentioned it is being sold as it just doesn't get used enough to make sense to own. Free local pickup - or will arrange for shipping at the buyers expense. Good luck bidding !
