1 of 30-35 Datsun Z's modified between 1975-1981 by SCARAB in Campbell CA. 1 of 19 known to still exist.
This is a running,driving piece of automotive "tuner" history! 350 ci Chevy bow-tie block, with 2.02 heads and 1.6 roller rocker arms. ZF 6-speed transmission (small leak). Sale includes original T-10 4-speed transmission, along with any OEM SCARAB parts removed from the car. Gotti 3-piece rims. R-200 open diff.
Recently authenticated by Brian Morrow, owner of SCARAB as being built at the SCARAB facility. Four photos of this car (including back cover) in the just released book on the Datsun SCARAB history, Resurrecting The Legend, by Randall Lewis. Peoples Choice award recipient at ZCON 2019 in Branson MO.
Body, paint and interior are in amazing condition for a 48-year old car. Just the right amount of patina. Uncracked original dashboard. SCARAB modifications were done circa 1980. Some bubbles under paint on passenger side doglegs. Rails and floor boards are solid.
Period magazines with SCARAB articles included containing statements like "The Cobra of the 70's". Embroidered jacket (XL) and hat.
