1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Pro Street

This 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle is a bold pro street build with plenty of big block power, nitrous injection, a race-ready interior, and all the right competition-grade components. And while it will be a great quarter-mile hustler, it also has just the right amount of domestication so that you can hang a license plate off the back.

There's an extra streak of mean in this Chevelle. Matte paint, hood stripes, a small tire front, lift-off cowl hood, and Centerline racing wheels all hint at the quarter-mile killer within. Even beneath this blacktop-eating attitude, you're going to find some terrific appeal. After all, they used a '70 Chevelle as a base, which is one of the best muscle car icons ever. Good body panels and an even application of the red paint add a stylish side to this car's substantial appearance. So while you know this one loves to get down to speedy business, it also can fill you with pride when just parking at a cruise-in.

The competition-ready attitude gets turned up a notch when you open the door. You're greeted by leather racing buckets with all the right bolstering to keep you plenty during high-speed runs. In fact, this is a true track-ready machine with an NHRA roll cage and Crow five-point racing harness for the driver. The dash is a full custom racecar package with toggle switches and a full set of AutoMeter Pro-Comp readouts. The tach is the most important gauge in this package, and so it's mounted prominently on the top of the dash with a shift light. The three-spoke sports steering wheel (power steering) is on a tilt column for a proper grip, and Hurst racing shifter lets you choose your gear with confidence.

The full lift-off hood means excellent access to the big block beast within. This is a 454 cubic-inch V8 with a Holley four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake, and a wicked set of headers feeding the rather straight pipes of the growling dual exhaust. Plus, that full NOS injection is there to make sure you get to stay a car length ahead. This big motor is supported by all the right pieces, including a MSD Blaster SS coil, MSD Pro billet distributor, AN fittings, and steel braided lines. Also, part of the full racecar setup means eliminating the inner fenders for weight savings, adding strength to the engine bay, and mounting a fuel cell in the rear that's also protected by part of the racing cage. The Powerglide transmission is always a racer's favorite, and that feeds a strong 12-bolt rear end. The suspension has been upgraded with tubular front A-arms, a reinforced ladder bar rear, and adjustable coilovers. You've also got disc brakes up front and meaty Mickey Thompson tires in the rear.

Complete with build receipts, this is a wicked Pro Street build done from one of your favorite muscle cars. Don't let this awesome Chevelle slip away, call today!
