1950 Chevrolet Styleline Gasser

Tall, flashy, and exceptionally powerful: gassers are a cool unique era in custom classics that command attention simply because they tower over the other cars at the shows, literally. You don't see these often, especially done to this standard. But when you want to be recognized even in a crowd of standouts, then you need a cool look done from a cool classic like 1950 Chevrolet Styleline.

This one has a very cool outlaw style. Matte black on classic American steel gives this the look of a true straight-line brawler. The whole package nicely represents the gasser culture. After all, these were all about shedding weight and transferring force to the rear wheels. So it correctly has the front bumper removed and a high solid axle installed (and don't you just love how the world can now get a peek at those headers with the exhaust cutouts.) Plus, there's a louvered hood and proper Weld-style racing wheel with skinny Mickey Thompson front units and meaty Hoosiers in the rear. But even as a race-ready gasser, this classic Chevy also has flair. The metallic teal roof adds some cool shine, and it coordinates nicely with the Harbinger side graphics, headlight tint, and undertones of the grille. So it's a well-done two-tone look.

The interior is all about speedy business. Like a true racer, anything that was adding unnecessary weight was just eliminated. Now you have a custom roll cage and a set of modern racing buckets with proper RJS harnesses. The door panels are clean and simple aluminum (and the wording can be removed if you so desire.) They did leave some room of style within this function, like the exterior matching teal on the dash and a banjo-style sports steering wheel on the tilt column. There's a ratchet shifter, a full pack of auxiliary gauges, and a large AutoMeter Sport-Comp tach mounted prominently on the dash. So this one is ready to run.

The engine bay is filled with big block power. 454 cubic-inches weren't enough, so this was bored out to 489ci total! Plus, it's built with a Lunati Voodoo Cam, a competition valve job, roller rockers, and 9:1 compression for pump gas. There were go-fast goodies added like a Holley Street Avenger 870 CFM four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock Performer intake, MSD ignition, aluminum radiator w/electric fans, and performance headers. You've already seen how great that last feature looks through the wheel wells, but what you might not notice, is that the full dual exhaust exits behind the doors. This gives the glasspacks plenty of time to create a monstrous roar, or you can just open the cutout covers for the ultimate thundering experience. Making sure that all this power gets to the ground properly is a stout TH400 three-speed with manual shift body, B&M Holeshot torque converter, and trans cooler. This feeds a strong Currie 9-inch Positraction rear end with 4.30 gears for powerful take-offs. There has been a ton invested in the suspension, and there are even power steering and four-wheel power disc brakes help you keep it all under control with ease.

Distinct, powerful, and ferocious, this is the cool gasser with a tough-as-nails attitude. So you know you want to take it home right now. Call today!!!
