1979 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic

We wanted this car in this color in 1979 but couldn't afford it. So, when we found this one in July 1983, we jumped at it! At that time it had 60,100 miles on it.
Speaking of mileage, we are seeing many of these sold as having ridiculously low mileage. Why?? You can't tell how many times the odometer has passed 100,000 miles unless the car was ours. My father had trucks, and made me promise, when I got my first car, I'd keep records. We are talking COMPLETE records-every single thing ever done to the car, every oil change, even every gas fill up. It's all in the book in the glove box. This car legitimately has under 200,000 miles on it.
We have lived half time in Mexico and half time in California for many years. This car has been stored for many months for many years. That's why it's low mileage.
We have kept this car in great condition, which is why it isn't being listed as "restored." Yes, it's been painted twice, new tops and headliner twice, several engines, whatever it needed, weatherstripping, all that stuff, but never allowed to be in a condition that required restoration.
In 2013, mileage 18,6886 (that's only 11,000 miles ago) it was painted, new top, headliner, tires, everything. It is beautiful.
February, 2018, we had our mechanic pick it up while we were away and change the oil, do a tune up and a complete inspection of the clutch, etc, to make sure it ran well and was ready to sell. It literally has been driven 15 miles since then.
Extras? See the photo: Brand new Evolution 5 custom car cover, Evolution 5 Tonneau cover. The VW books you need if you ever consider doing your own work, and we did a lot over the years.
The convertible boot isn't an extra, but part of the car. Why don't we see them included on others for sale?
We are both adults, no kids ever drove this, it hasn't been wrecked, we are non smokers. We'd love to take it to Zihuatanejo with us, but it's not legally possible.
THE PHOTOS ARE HORRIBLE!!!! It is really sunny and the paint looks faded. It's not, it's gorgeous and shiny we'll try to take them again.
