MotoeXotica is pleased to announce another cult classic from the sixties, the 1969 Volkswagen Beetle type 1500. This Volkswagen Beetle has resided with the same loving family for 33 years since it was purchased new from Pat Strong Motors, Helena, Montana on December 14th, 1968 with only 9 miles. The car has recently had a full restoration performed

The Beetle is the longest-running and most-manufactured car of a single design platform anywhere in the world with over 21 million cars produced between 1938 and 2003. The ‘1500’ model was launched in 1966 and provided the biggest one-time jump in power output by a whopping 25% to 50bhp. With tighter gearing and having been tuned for higher rpm. quick acceleration of the ‘1300’ was also more than a match for the competition. VW utilized a double jointed rear axle from 1969 which all but eliminated the problem making the ‘1300’ a truly well balanced and highly capable machine. These characteristics have made the ‘1500’ one of the most nostalgic and desired classic Beetle generations.

Finished in a Colbalt Blue, this Beetle shows well with only very minor imperfections visible upon close inspection. The headlights and tail lights are in excellent condition and perform their intended function. All the trim is present and complete (sporting a period correct “black-out” treatment). The side mirrors are Vitoloni which are highly desirable and in very good shape. The polished aluminum Centerline 15-inch wheels present well and add to the period look of the Bug.

Inside, the Corbeau “GT” black cloth front seats have an excellent support and are very comfortable. The rear seats are original black “Leatherette” vinyl. The grey carpet is used tastefully to tie together the entire roomy interior floor with matching black door panels. The painted blue with black vinyl covered dashboard is a continuation of the exterior of the car and look fantastic. All the original equipment gauges are in place and have correct appearance and function. Also equipped is the original Sapphire IX AM radio.

This Beetle is equipped with a correct single Solex carburetor powered by a horizontally opposed, overhead-valve, 1.3L air-cooled four-cylinder engine, 4 speed manual with Hurst shifter transmission, upgraded Bosch “blue” ignition coil, bevel gear differential, front and rear hydraulic drum brakes, twin chrome tailpipes. 15-inch period correct Centerline aluminum light weight alloys with performance rated tires. The original Volkswagen steering wheel is in excellent condition. Included is a accessory catalog, original stamped service booklet and original sales contract!

Who needs a Deloren to go back in time? This slightly modified ’69 Beetle will take you back to the sixties a lot quicker than you remember…if you remember the sixties at all.. GET OUT AND DRIVE!

Current mileage on the odometer shows 84,813 miles, sold as is with a mileage exempt title.
