Summertime Drop Top Fun !!!!
1979 VW Super Beetle Convertible Tri-White A well maintained final year of production VW Super Beetle Convertible, fuel-injected, original tri-white (white top, white paint, white interior).Full 'body off restoration performed about 10 years ago. Correct single stage paint, original soft top, original seat covers, trim panels, dash pad and floor materials. Engine overhauled when full restoration was performed. This VW has a total of 80,194 actual miles on it. The restoration was done at about 74,000 actual miles. The odometer and speedometer work as designed and all miles are documented.
The third owner is now selling her 'baby' to fund a wedding and to make room in a small home garage. This VW shows all its original sheet metal. No rust or rust repair. Paint is an 8.5 -- 9.0 on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being absolute show quality. The interior shows extremely well. While not new, but shows limited use and no damage or stress wear on seams, seating surfaces, trim panels or flooring. It is nicely aged and supports the fact this VW has enjoyed a pampered life. The soft top is well maintained and is bright white and completely undamaged.
It functions as new. It has aftermarket chrome wheels and nearly new radial tires. It has an upgraded sound system with high quality amp and speakers. The transmission shifts as new. The clutch feels very good (only about 5,000 miles since it was replaced) and brakes are near new.
This is a fun VW to drive. Factory Fuel-injection eliminates all of the cold and hot driveability issues of carburetion. Hit the key and go!
This is a great investment and a vehicle that you can enjoy driving. Its value should continue to increase in the future. Not many were built, the last year this body as a convertible was offered, in the USA; built in the Karmann plant (high quality); great look; convertible popularity. Many of these were subjected to severe use and didn't survive or have been reassembled from other vehicles or aftermarket parts. Restoration photos are available on request.
