1971 Triumph TR-6 Conv

Up for auction is amy very, very nice 1971 Triumph TR-6 ( non-overdrive ) with only 90,326 miles showing on the odometer. As you can see the car is in very, very nice condition. I will make every effort to detail everything about the car so all interested will be fully informed prior to bidding. This is not your run of the mill TR-6 so please take your time and read the auction in its entirety. This one of the very few TR6's up for private sale and is selling to the highest bidder this week. Dealers are asking well into the teens and twenties for cars of this condition and none are numbers matching like this one. This is your chance!! So with a starting price of $1.00 bid now and bid often as she's going to a new home this week. Again, this is a NO reserve auction so don't ask me what the reserve price is as there isn'tone. High bidder takes her home.Heritage:Thisis a true numbers matching car.The production date isMay 1970,commission number is CC 54306 L, engine number is CC 54270 Eand body tag is 54415 CC. I can order the British Heritage Certificate from England, it might take up to 4 weeks to arrive and will mail it to the new owner when it arrives.http://www.heritage-motor-centre.co.uk/store/
Mechanicals:The car runs and drives Great! The engine bay is very nice and tidy. The car was recently serviced whichincludeda tune up,oil change, oil filter and all fluids topped off.Other work completed such as a new brake master cylinder, New rear brake cylinders, New rear brake shoes and a New set of radial tires where installed ( all done in the past week ).The car starts right up withno issues orsmoke. The brakes and clutchpeddles are strong and firm. The engine is "drum tight " with no signs of any fluid drips anywhere under the car at this time. The car shifts up / down through all the gears with no issues or noises from the transmissionor the rear end. Note: previous owner stated to me that the engine was rebuilt and a new clutch kit was installed about 4,000 miles ago but I have no documentation, however given how well the car runs, engine condition and visual inspection of the engine / transmission I'd say that the work was done.
Electrical's:This area is in very good condition. The following items are in proper working order: headlights ( high & low beam) wor, wipers work, front & rearturn signals work, front & rear running lights work, side marker lights work, brake lights work, backup lights work and the license plate lights work.Gauges:All gauges are correct and original "Smith" brand and are in working order at thistime.
Interior: Isin nice condition. Recently replaced items include: New dash top, new lower left & right dash crash pads, new dash center plinth, new shift knob and new complete carpet kit ( correct Looped style carpet ). Note: The drivers seat bottom needs repair / replacing which is easy to do.Exterior:The car looks absolutely fabulous in stunning red. Shows and shines like new. Not a show car but she sure looks the part. The carsitsnicely on the ground with no leaning, sagging or any signs of the dreaded TR-6 "Squatting"issues. Look at howwellthe body, hood, trunk and doors fit. As seen all body panels, hood, trunk anddoors are laser straight and I can only find a single very small paint chip on the car. No paint bubbles anywhere on the car. I've been over the car a ton of times and I've yet to find a single dent or ding on the car ( unheard of for a car nearly 50 years old ). While I'm no expert I find no evidence of rust / rust repairs to any of the exterior body panels ( all original steel body panels ).The wheels are in nice condition and are wrapped in brand new radial tires. Note:The car was repainted about a year ago and has been exceptionally well taken care of since then. The re spay was done to a very, very high standard and I can find no over spray on any of the chrome, seals or body gaskets on the car ( well none I can find ). A re spray of this quality and standard would cost at least $5,000 ( probably closer to $6k ).Soft Top:The soft topis in good overall condition.
Top Cover:The comes with a brand New top cover as seen in the photos.Trunk:The truck is rock solid. Recently replaced the trunk panel kit and has new carpet in the same Looped style carpet as the interior.
Underbody:This area looksunbelievably solid and clean.Shipping:If you need to have the car shipped to your location here in the states you can get a fast and free online quote from Able Auto Transport at: http://www.ableautotransport.com/
