1986 FJ73 Land Cruiser

Price: - Item location: San Antonio, Texas, United States
Description:

1980 Toyota Land Cruiser LX

Note: VIN and year (1980)is incorrect. Ebay will not let me list the non-US VIN. This cruiser is 1986.

1986 Toyota Land Cruiser (FJ73) imported from Colombia a few years ago. This cruiser is part of the 70 series line up which was not originally sold in the US.

The engine is a 3F gas(petrol) engine mated to a H55F 5-speed transmission. It has rear full float axle with manual locking AISIN hubs up front.

I have had a bit of work done under the hood over the last few years I have owned it. I may be forgetting something but the list of major work (mostly done by a reputable land cruiser mechanic) is:

1)Entire cooling system was rebuilt with OEM parts, clutch fan from 3FE installed.

2)New ADRAD radiator from Australia (still have original radiator if wanted)

3)New radiator hoses

4)New thermostat

5)New A/C compressor (New OEM Toyota Denso unit, not reman) installed and system converted over to R134a.

6)Alternator was not charging properly so that had to be looked into and fixed. It is charging properly now.

7)Tune up was recently completed with new spark plugs.

Some non-mechanical work I have had done or done myself is:

1)Complete new lock set. OEM cylinders with Toyota OEM keys. Including the glove box door and gas door.

2)New interior pieces (dash pad, brake handle, dash cluster pod surround, etc.

3)Installed new OEM windshield washer reservoir and overflow coolant tank.

4)Set of Toyo open country 16" tires with OEM steel wheels that are correct for the 70 series.

5)New windshield wipers, repaired linkage. (still have originals if wanted)

I have some new OEM parts that I have not gotten around to installing that I will let go with this cruiser if it reaches the reserve price.

1)Brand new, still in package OEM soft top from Toyota. Shipped from Japan directly to me. This top cost $1,900 at the time.

2)Brand new OEM windshield frame in Toyota box. This frame is specific only for soft top models and cannot be used for FRP top cruisers. It was around $1100 with shipping from Japan. The existing frame is still usable but does have some rust along the bottom. This is a very common problem with the fold-able windshield frames of 70 series cruisers.

A little bit about more this cruiser. While it has the factory OEM soft top set up...bows, top, and all those bits and pieces required for a Toyota OEM soft top set up. It was originally a FRP hard top cruiser. Regardless, this is an extremely rare configuration and there are not many 70 series cruisers in the US with factory soft top setup. Also, it is LHD and has factory A/C (no heater) which is a great option for someone that is picking about not wanting RHD. It has jump seats in the back that are good for children. No idea if they are factory or not but they appear to be so.

If you have ANY questions, please ask me. I have tried to be upfront and honest as possible in this listing but I may have forgotten to add something. While it is not my daily driver, I do drive this cruiser (2-3 times) every week to work and on weekends as well.
