Description:

1956 Studebaker Wagonaire

For sale is a really neat 1956 Studebaker Parkview 2 door station wagon. The car has been in storage for most of the last 50 years. The car was sold new here in central California and had remained in this area its entire life. What is truly amazing about this car is the condition of the sheet metal. Studebakers were very prone to rust and the body on this car is in just great shape. Anywhere else in the country (or the world for that matter) and this car would have had been long gone a long time ago. I took pictures of the body supports that hold up the car...pretty unbelievable. I was told the car last ran in 2006 when I bought it. The motor spins freely. It has been in storage since and will need to be gone through prior to starting. With that said...I cannot guarantee the condition of the engine or transmission as I have never heard them function...just want to be honest about that. Someone did convert it over to an alternator but I was able to acquire the correct generator plus an extra starter and carb. I was not planning on selling this car but need the space. During the course of my ownership, I have acquired many rare nos parts for it including nos tail light housings and lenses (try an find a set of those). I also bought an nos tailgate handle and medalions. I also have receipts for over $1500 in new parts from Studebaker International including everything from a headliner to new door sill plates. With a little work...this is going to be just an awesome car. With that said, I will reserve the right to end this auction early as I may decide to list this car for sale locally. Being a 62 year old car, it does not come with a warranty and is sold as is where is. If you are a Studebaker fan...you really need to see the condition of this car to appreciate it. We really want it to go to a good home. Please call with any questions you may have or to make an appointment to come and see it. Thanks for looking. (530) 723-2145.
