Please note that experience shows us that the photobucket of over 100 large pixel pictures posted here are in most cases best viewed and downloaded using the very latest and most updated version of the 'Firefox' browser as some other browsers and especially older browser versions are not capable of accommodating the size of the download. Over the years our clients have overwhelmingly been appreciative of our many unaltered large pixel photos posted in our ads and our feedback has been that it is very rare that a dealer will post all but the most flattering of professionally finished photographs. We prefer to post the many photos taken of the car, n sometimes unflattering but natural sunlight, n order for our prospective buyers to be able to see true and reliable images of the car advertised and that is the reason for some seemingly duplicated shots. We trust you will agree.
West Coast Classics present a legendary RHD imported 'small chrome bumper' Rolls Royce Silver Shadow, 1972 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow owned for over thirty years by its southern California owners who imported the car from the UK in the 1980's with all its original service records, ocumentation and handbooks. Unfortunately it has not been driven regularly for several years and should be considered a running project. It drives but should not be considered safe to drive and will need a mechanical overhaul as there are various leaks and issues that would need a professional diagnosis before completing.
The car also needs paintwork and upholstery work. The chromework including the Rolls Royce grille is all very good and apart from the worn seats, he interior is virtually all original and quite presentable with a very good dashboard. Only one electric window is working. There is some very minor rust bubbling under the rear bumper and on one door as shown in the pictures below, therwise it is pretty much rust and seemingly accident free.
The Silver Shadow cost an almost impossibly expensive $19,700 when introduced in 1965, ore than three times as much as its contemporary US luxury sedan, he Cadillac Sedan de Ville and yet it was an absolute sensation with everyone from heads of state to captains of industry and celebrities around the world wanting to be seen owning one! Despite the increased production from Rolls Royce's earlier models, emand could not be met and there was a two year waiting list meaning that some enterprising individuals ordered, urchased and immediately resold these cars at a profit to someone lacking the patience for Crewe's two year wait!
For those who are unfamiliar, olls Royce no longer exists as it had for over one hundred years. This is the last in the original line of cars hand built in the legendary Rolls Royce factory in Crewe, ngland with a quality and craftsmanship that far surpasses that of today's mass produced models with many BMW parts. It is a shame that this particular car has seen better days but it still presents a very opportunity for use as a good parts or indeed project car for the right individual.
