Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this 1978 Pontiac Trans Am which is in restored condition and comes with a great running rebuilt 403 engine coupled with a rebuilt transmission. This Trans Am features a very nice repaint in Carbon Black Metallic, a fully restored interior, restored Snowflake wheels with newer tires, and a strong running rebuilt 403 engine. This Trans Am is finished a beautiful and desirable color combination of Carbon Black Metallic over Black cloth interior. This TA came from the factory in Gold paint over Tan interior, so this TA has been treated to a total restoration and done to a high standard over the last two years. Over $10,000 in receipts are included in the sale mostly pertaining to the Interior, Front and Rear bumpers, AC upgrade, and Transmission rebuild.
Exterior
The Carbon Black Metallic exterior is in beautiful restored condition. This Trans Am was treated to a professional repaint in Carbon Black Metallic with all new decals which are in like new condition. The paint is in great condition and has a high gloss and smooth touch, with a beautiful shine. There is no bubbling paint anywhere on the body and the gaps and lines are very good around the car. The Carbon Black Metallic is a custom color that really compliments this Trans Am and looks fantastic on the car. A can of touch up paint is included in the saale for potential rock chips and touch ups. Both bumpers have been replaced prior to the repaint at over $800 and are in great shape with no flaking or faded paint and the nose crest emblem was just changed. The wheel flares were replaced as well prior to the repaint at a cost of $360. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but noting was intentionally excluded from the photos. Tires are like new with less than 5000 miles on them and the OEM Snowflake wheels are fully restored with newer center caps and lug nuts. All weather stripping and window sweeps are newer and in great condition. Trunk is very solid and clean with an original style trunk mat. The underside is extremely solid and honest and shows no signs of any prior or past rust and no repairs or patches anywhere on the underside. This TA was purchased out of New Mexico recently and shows no rust anywhere around the car.
Interior
The Black interior of this Trans Am has been fully restored. The factory color was Tan and was changed to black over the last two years and everything was changed and replaced. The seat covers are new and are like new in every way and have no wear. These are the upgraded covers and cost almost $719 and new foam was added as well even in the rear seats. The front seat belts were replaced at a cost of $280. The carpet is like new as well with no stains, rips, or holes and was replaced. The entire dash assembly was changed with a reproduction dash from Classic Industries and is in new condition at a cost of $700. This is not a dash pad or repaired old dash but a new reproduction unit. The dash bezel is in good condition. A retrosound stereo was installed and sounds great in the car and the dash was not cut for installation. A new steering wheel was recently added. The shifter plate was changed and so was the console lid. The door panels are newer and in excellent condition and the arm rests are newer as well and in tact and work as they should. The headliner and package tray have also been replaced and both are in like new condition. The sun visors have also been replaced. All interior lights and gauges work as they should outside of the clock. The horn, wipers, stereo, and blower motor all work. The clock keeps accurate time as the Tach, Oil/temp gauge, volt. gauge and fuel gauges are newer. This TA has upgraded Classic Auto Air Conditioning and was installed over the last year and works well. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever.
Mechanical
This Trans Am is in great mechanical condition and the 403 engine runs very well. The 403 engine was believed to be rebuilt in 2016 with less than 5000 miles added since. The automatic transmission was also rebuilt recently and shifts well, see included receipt for over $1300. In the video one can observe this car running and driving with no excessive rattles or noises, and the car handles and performs well. This Trans Am is a great driver that feels good on the road and at highway speeds. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. It starts right away every time and runs strong. The brakes do not pull while driving and stop well. The power steering pump has been replaced and so has the alternator. New front suspension bushings were added. True dual Flowmaster exhaust was added with newer Hooker headers and gaskets which gives this TA an amazing rumble at idle and cruising speeds. Also, the engine is clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. This is a factory AC which was recently upgraded to Classic Auto Air Conditioning. This TA came from New Mexico and working AC was a requirement. This is a fun TA to have and gets a lot of looks while driving and runs and drives very well. Currently the tach is not hooked up or working.
