1967 Pontiac GTO Tempest

1967 Pontiac Tempest GTO Convertible

This is a classic GTO. The 1967 Pontiac GTO saw only a few changes from the 1966. The most notable were changes to the grill and taillights. The horizontal slotted tail lights were a hit and helped make this the best looking GTO to the eyes of many enthusiasts. GM imposed a rule that only Corvette could have a multi-carb engine. Pontiac took another tack for more power and bored the 389ci engine to 400ci and got more power.

This car is a survivor, hat starts right up, rives nicely and shifts smoothly. The original color was Signet Gold and it was repainted to a cream white but still has a black interior and top.

Don’t know all of the history but it purchased years ago from a fellow in NY State and brought to North Carolina. The color of the engine block would suggest that it had a new or re-manufactured engine replacement. Odometer shows 69,978 ??? Not sure of actual.

This is a great car as a drivable survivor or a candidate for a complete restoration. No doubt

It is a piece of history and a part of the muscle car era.
