This 1948 Diamond T has been a fixture of our mountain community for many years. This particular truck has been used for lumber delivery by the gentleman that has run the local Saw Mill for decades. The structures on the property that this truck is pictured on were built almost exclusively with materials delivered by this exact truck and lumber milled locally over the last 35 years. My dad had loved this truck when I was a child and talked about it all through my high school years. My Uncle has dreamed of this truck for years...both now find themselves unable to have this great machine due to unforeseen changes, as we know...With life...comes change. So, with regret, this dream truck must now pass from my family to another.Previous owner cleanly installed Corvette 327 with 202 heads backed by 400 Turbohydramatic transmission power train mated to factory 2 speed rear end. Powerful Mid-60's Chevy V-8 has Quadrajet 4 barrel carb and Mallory electronic ignition distributor.Starts, runs, shifts, drives, stops and turns as it ought to but could clearly use some continued fine tuning.
Rear rims were swapped for wider ones during the trucks heyday and will come with 4 original rear rims with tires.2 speed axle vacuum switching function is intermittent.Flatbed is non-dumping and the wood is truly wasted...will need replacement ASAP but left on for pattern making and measurements.Frame is very clean!Rear glass is cracked.Front windows are crank operated and will need seals.Front tires are really great, rears are good.Minimal rust under each door, easy access and simple, flat metal repair is needed. No cab corner rust or cancer anywhere else!New battery and truck comes with multiple new rubber components not installed including steps and window rubber.Headlights, airhorn and wipers all not operating currently but marker lights and heater motor do.Top speed will be between 55-60mph in current configuration...but it gets there real quick!:)I would plan on transporting via truck or trailer as truck is largely untested after many years of storage.Truck is smog exempt in California, currently non-opped with no fees.Bid with confidence...you will not be disappointed.Feel free to contact with any questions or to request more pictures.Happy Fourth of July!!
