Description:

1976 Mercury Comet

1976 Mercury Comet, looks like grandmas Sunday church car but goes like h... 1970 302 block, .30 over with 351 heads ported and polished. B+M 144 blower, forged internals, roller rockers, studded heads, etc. 100 shot of nitrous in trunk I have never hit. Ford AOD trans built as well with 3,000 stall, manual valve body and trans brake. 9 inch out back with 4.33 gears and Trac Lock, Cal-trac bars. Car has NO rust. Zero. Car was sprayed with rusty jones when new and it worked. Car was repainted in 2005 in its factory Dove gray color. Look at shock towers which were cut and now blend in. All quality work, no short cuts no hacking. Car has new Champion aluminum radiator, electric fan and shroud. Runs cool, no heat issues. No fluid leaks, it will not mark it’s territory. New ball joints, control arms, disc brakes, shocks and sway bar up front along with new BFG silver towns. M+H cheater slicks out back. Steel rims with dog dish caps. Everything works as you would expect. Bench interior is factory and feels like a BarcaLounger. No rips or tears. Chrome and trim is gorgeous. Window and door seals are in great shape. This car will not disappoint, it has been very well built and maintained. Overdrive allows highway cruising. Cheap Pro Street, hot rod cruiser that will surprise a lot of people. For the last twelve years it has been a cruise night, ice cream put put around town car. Paint has a chip here and there but again no rust and no filler. Bumpers have been pulled into body about 4-5 inches on each end. Message me any questions you may have send a tx # for a quicker text response or email if you want/need further photos. Low reserve, looking to make room in garage so no trades. Thanks for reading all of this and best of luck with your bid. Car leaves my possession when payed in full. You arrange shipping, it’s quite easy.

I’ve received several questions and I’ll throw em out there for anybody else who may have same question. The biggest one is, What’s your reserve? A fair question, I’ve asked people the same thing, but unfortunately I won’t reveal it. I don’t think this is a $20,000 car but I also know it’s not a $10-12,000 car either. If this were a Nova or some type of Chrysler product it would be double and triple the amount for reasons I’ll never understand. Does the car run and drive? Uhhhhmmmmm, yep and quite well. You can daily drive it, everything works on it. It idles smooth, brakes are solid, suspension is solid, heat works. It’s very well sorted out and drives straight and true down the road. There is no rust on the car, from what I can see there never has been. No door sag. Doors close and lock, as does trunk and glovebox. Windows crank up and down and seal very well just like the doors. The car leaves my possession once it is paid for and funds have cleared the bank, the same as what you would want if you were selling a car I’m sure. If you need additional photos just ask and I’ll send em to your phone or email. If you would like to make an offer, feel free to message me as well. I will call you if you send me a telephone number. If you’re in the area come and see it, that’s what I would do. Again thanks for everyone’s time and best of luck.

Car does not run hot. In traffic or on an hour drive I’m generally in the 180-190 area on 85-90 degree days. In the evening on the way home it will be around 170-175. Spring time I was driving at 160-165. The shroud and fan work well.
